Ahem.

Have yourself a merry little Fitzmas,
Let your heart be light
From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight (locked away!)
Have yourself a merry little Fitzmas,
Make it Indictment Day!
From now on,
our troubles will be locked away.

Here we are as in olden days, (Tricky Dick!)
happy golden days of Gore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
gather near to us once more.

Through the years they all be in jail together
If the Courts allow
Hang an impeachment upon the highest brow!
And have yourself a merry little Fritzmas now.

Toon of the Day: Delay's Perp Walk

Posted by jjoats at October 19, 2005 06:28 AM

Ah, Fitzmas! A day destined to become the greatest of all fake holidays. (Sorry, Kwaanza.)

We're a little late getting ready for the big day at the moonbat household, so I guess it's good that Santa Fitz gave us an extra week. You need to get that bubbly good and cold, you know.

Posted by dj moonbat at October 19, 2005 07:12 AM

While PlameGate has been a very intriguing saga, I don't like the way the left has been gloating about it.

It's time for a representation of alternatives, not pompous gloating.

Posted by SurcamStances at October 19, 2005 07:38 AM

This whole Fitzmas thing is terrible for my sense of humour. I keep wanting to re-write carols and put them to pictures. I feel like Holden or Attaturk have invaded my body and I can't stop giggling.

Thank god I'm too lazy to have my own blog.

Posted by idiosynchronic at October 19, 2005 07:40 AM

A little early Fitzmas present for those in the blogger community who want to do the gumshoe to confirm.

Yeah its Justin, but its worth your time.

From the NYTimes:

Given the political ramifications attached to Mr. Fitzgerald's decisions, officials at the White House have begun discussing what would happen if Mr. Rove was indicted.

Among the names being discussed to take some of Mr. Rove's responsibilities should he have to step aside, an outside adviser to the White House said, are Dan Bartlett, currently Mr. Bush's counselor; Ken Mehlman, the chairman of the Republican National Committee; and Robert M. Kimmitt, the deputy Treasury secretary.

Well, at the the WH is taking this seriously even if the trolls around here are still in denial.

Who's your guess to replace Turdblossom?

Posted by ann at October 19, 2005 08:01 AM

My vote goes to Kenny Mehlman. He definitely bends at the waste easier than the other guys, though Danny Bartlett does some excellent work on his knees! And in front of the cameras, no less! (:>

. . .that's "waist" . . . (:>

NY Times profits fall 52%. I don't know how traditional print media is going to survive. Everything is online for the price of your monthly internet connection, and news aggregators are taking over.

Hurricane Wilma now a category 5. Incredible. I have some friends in FL who are evacuating (yet again). Well, we know where Geraldo and Rita Crosby will be this weekend.

Also, a new outbreak of Avian Flu in Northern China.

Posted by muckdog at October 19, 2005 09:31 AM

Will someone give that idiot Crosby a decongestant? I expect her to hack up a loogie after every sentence.

Posted by iamcoyote at October 19, 2005 09:56 AM

One of the big stories for the end of the year will be who Bush picks as new chairman of the Federal Reserve. Markets worry loyalty to guide Bush in Fed Choice.

And bloggers joke about headlines saying, "Bush picks own accountant to replace Fed's Greenspan."

Posted by muckdog at October 19, 2005 09:59 AM

Coyote, with her new gig at MSNBC, they don't restrict the camera angle to above the neckline. When she was out covering Hurricane Rita, there were full body shots.

Of course that link is to a parody site having some fun with Rita. But heck, all is fair.

Posted by muckdog at October 19, 2005 10:07 AM

Mucky, I was talking about her voice. What the heck are you talking about?

Posted by iamcoyote at October 19, 2005 10:19 AM

More than her voice is husky, coyote. If she had an ad in Yahoo personals, she'd probably click the Voluptuous checkbox, though.

Posted by muckdog at October 19, 2005 10:27 AM

bu$h will probably nominate Snow for Greenspan's job!

Posted by bbtb at October 19, 2005 10:34 AM

So you're saying she's fat? And that's significant because...?

Is this another attempt at humor, mucky? Really, I admire you for trying, and maybe your dog and your 3 year old laughs at it, but you might want to try it out on an adult, just to make sure the punchline works.

Posted by iamcoyote at October 19, 2005 10:52 AM

idio: Thank god I'm too lazy to have my own blog.

That's why you have to recruit helper elves.

The way things are going they won't. Technology was going to make print newspapers obsolete anyway, the only niche selling point was their accuracy. In the NYT case first Blair and now Miller have shot their creditability.
They're innaccurate, they're so slow that the bolgs are starting to scoop them on most stories and they expect people to pay for an inferior product, it's not gonna work.

Posted by rlp at October 19, 2005 11:16 AM

Yound Santa Claus-looking chap looking for elves. Must want to do manufacturing, clerical, and maintenance work for Keebler cookies. Web experience a plus. Sense of humour, a fetish for green pyjamas, and high tolerance for cold necessasry. EOE.

Coyote, are you pixieish enough to be an elf?

Posted by idiosynchronic at October 19, 2005 11:22 AM

ahem!

Oh, sorry--helper coyotes. ;)

Posted by dj moonbat at October 19, 2005 11:22 AM

No coyote, just having some fun with Rita and the differences between Fox and MSNBC. (ie, The Full Body Shot.) Anyways, I'm sure she'll be out there covering Wilma. Heck, the sat image of that storm is INCREDIBLE.

Posted by muckdog at October 19, 2005 11:23 AM

I personally don't believe in Fitzmas. It is a blatant commercialization of the Second Coming, intended solely for our enjoyment. And it's only mentioned once in the Bible.

Who's your guess to replace Turdblossom?

I vote for Dolly D. Vine. She works at the Club L on K street. I don't know much about her background, but she's apparently very good with calls and raising things like funds. George will like her heart.

Posted by tempus at October 19, 2005 11:27 AM

rlp, the news media hasn't made a smooth transition to the web. They still seem to write articles the old fashioned way. It's yesterday's news. They're picking up AP or Reuter feeds that we read yesterday on Yahoo, for goodness sakes.

In today's world, we're beyond yesteday's news. We don't even want today's news. We want this minute's news. What's happening NOW. That's what we want.

Yahoo and Google are terrific news aggregators that let us see what's happening now. Blogs are great ways to discuss current events, and link to up to the minute news.

As soon as Yahoo and Google have a sunday coupon section, that'll be all she wrote for the print media!!!

Posted by muckdog at October 19, 2005 11:28 AM

Talked to my conservative sister in Tampa, she said FEMA and a lot of insurance companies have not settled with some of her neighbors and co-workers yet.
Wonder what will happen with Wilma?

Posted by bbtb at October 19, 2005 11:29 AM

As soon as Yahoo and Google have a sunday coupon section, that'll be all she wrote for the print media!!!

Well, then we'll stop wanting Sunday's coupons. We'll want this minute's coupons.

Posted by dj moonbat at October 19, 2005 11:32 AM

idio - I'm short with pointy ears, is that pixie-ish enough for you? Mucky, you're right, we do require up to the minute news. Who buys Newsweek or Time anymore, that news is so old, and usually debunked by the time it gets to your mailbox; why bother? And you can't trust the talking heads on the tv anymore, because most have been paid off.

Posted by iamcoyote at October 19, 2005 12:08 PM

You're hired. As long as you don't mind some leering.

Who uses Sunday coupons? I usually end up using the in-store coupons in a far higher proportion.

Posted by idiosynchronic at October 19, 2005 12:21 PM

You don't use sunday coupons? What about the ads? Don't you want to know what kinds of shovels are on sale at Home Depot this week?

(You need quite a few of them reading this site. Ba da boom.)

Posted by muckdog at October 19, 2005 12:28 PM

*whacks the puppy with a newspaper*

Outside with that! Bad dog! heh.

Posted by iamcoyote at October 19, 2005 01:01 PM

I use both. But then, I read The Millinoiaire Next Door, too. And I'm Scottish (aka: frugal.)
Call it a habit, call it obsessive, I call it free money. You can get coupons online, but that's a pain.

Posted by ann at October 19, 2005 01:34 PM

Ann, you read The Millionaire Next Door? I think that should be required reading by high school seniors. That, and John Bogle's Common Sense on Mutual Funds. Two great concept books on how to set off on your adult financial path.

Regarding coupons, I use them some for household products. But being a vegetarian, there aren't too many "$1 off sack of carrots" or "buy one bunch of broccoli, get one free!" coupons. Those would be about as populuar as "Broccoli and Cauliflower Lunchables for Kids."

Most of the food that has coupon offers is processed stuff. I tend to avoid that stuff. (Because that's what Karl Rove told me to do.)

Posted by muckdog at October 19, 2005 02:01 PM

Good for you mucky, but you'd better say something wingnutty real quick, or that smidge of respect for you might grow!

BTW, if you buy the veggies on sale in season, you can blanch and freeze without too much loss of flavor.

Why no comment in the lefty blogs regarding the trial of Saddam?

Crafting your talking points?

Posted by Bagley at October 19, 2005 04:02 PM

Coyote, that's why I threw that last line in about KARL ROVE. He doesn't look like he eats too many veggies though. He looks like a processed food man all the way. I better be careful what I say. Karl reads this blog. Daily.

I'm a real man. I'd have to do a google search to start off with, to even know what I'd have to do to blanch anything. I'd enter "Blanch" and hit, "I'm feeling lucky." Just to see what comes up.

I can imagine the looks on the faces of my buddies on football party weekends when I tell them at halftime, "Who needs a beer? I'll bring 'em back after I blanch my veggies."

Those looks would be priceless, though. I can assure you that.

In any case, I'm not too worried about storing produce to retain its freshness. I think that's why God created Teriyaki sauce. By the way, that's a good way to start off eating veggies if you don't like them. That's what I had to do when I first went vegetarian.

Now, be honest. How many of you went and googled "Blanch?" You're such pawns. No wonder Karl Rove controls you all.

Posted by muckdog at October 19, 2005 04:18 PM

Why no comment in the lefty blogs regarding the trial of Saddam?

Well, not only is he guilty, but even if he weren't guilty, he would be found guilty. So if you're keeping a "web log" of new developments, it's hard to get excited about a fait accompli, unless you're a right-winger trying to draw attention from the fact that your chosen party is about to undergo the Biggest. Scandal. Ever.

Posted by dj moonbat at October 19, 2005 04:32 PM

Ok Bagley. It seems that Saddam asked the judge for an ID and that there were some blank sheets in the evidence documents. Oh, and the security was really tight -- no one could bring in their own pens or paper -- the court provided it.

Happy?

It also seems that election officials were assassinated, six people were pulled from a factory and shot, and two soilders were killed.

Did I miss your point?

'Sokay. I feel a little silly all the time.

Posted by dj moonbat at October 19, 2005 05:11 PM

SurcamStances, you have got to be kidding. Right? After almost five fucking years of having to watch our Democracy and Constitution being shredded, civil rights being stomped on, 2,000 being murdered for a unhonorable war, and the destruction of all values and morales in the name of Christ in this Country, we have earned the right to "gloat." I am not only goating, I am elated.

Posted by Judith at October 19, 2005 06:57 PM

Ann, you read The Millionaire Next Door?

Yup. I also read The Motley Fool's Personal Financial Workbook and Get a Financial Life. I wish those books had been around when I was in my 20s - I might be better off today - or I could have taken a savage beating in 2000 - 2001. Given my luck with money, I would have gotten the beating.
