Comments: Bird Flu Follies, Terror Prisons, Escaping Al Qaeda Operatives, And Continuing Violence

the Bush Flu Scare of '05 has all the trademarks of the War on Terror Scare...same phrasing and same "were all gonna die" scare tactics..it is so incredibly transparent. The "Distract the Citizens" plan seemed to fall flat, and was totally blotted out by the new Genius, Harry Reid. Damn, I watched his entire press gaggle on C-Span...the boy was full of piss and vinegar and let the GOP, Frist especially, have it full force. As his fellow Dems cringed in the background ("gee, I might lose a vote") I couldn't help but think of old Tom Daschle. Man, we wasted lots of years with that appeasing fool.

You'd think that now everyone knows this incompetent administration can't protect us from anything anyway, so this tactic shouldn't work anymore.

If he does declare war on birds, the first step will be to kill all the cats.

As a bone to the NRA and his gunowner base, get ready for a 24/7/365 hunting season on birds of every species. We must nip this bird flu in the bud. Hide your parakeets and cockatiels.

Rumsfeld is asking for more troops. I guess things aren't going so well.

Just for fun, I asked my Dr. about avian flu. He said, "huh?" Next he told me not to worry and that if I get the flu, any flu,he'd give me Tamiflu. I thought it sounded familiar; I took it the last time I had the flu.

Roche's shares are currently selling at about $200.00. Many other companies are wanting in on the action. All over the world, investors are anxious to invest in the ones that get the nod.

Does anyone remember how many people died of AIDS before the US allocated money to research it? The numbers were in the K's weren't they?

In most circumstances I'd like the fact that my government was actually looking out for me- but this virus has yet to mutate to one that can be transferred between humans.

I will put avian flu on my "worry list." I don't yet know what level of importance it will have. But, I do know it will follow humvees and levees.
