Yeah, that really tickles me, especially when I see Chris Mathews on Today Show this morning suggesting that Rove may have to resign. Oh, the tangle web we weave....

[Editor: ignore=off]Really, firing Rove is a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" sort of decision. If they fire him, it's a tacit admission of Rove's wrongdoing; if they don't, it's a tacit admission of ongoing complicity.
On the upside (for the White House), it's tough to believe that Rove would simply cease to run the operation. Plus, they'd save all that money on the danishes Rove eats at daily meetings.
Posted by dj moonbat at November 3, 2005 06:06 AMThere's no way Rove would just vanish, anyhow. Just like Delay, he'll just give the orders from a different office. Any damage will be countered with PR, but I think the public is now predisposed to question the spin. They've managed to activate the lizard brains of the masses and now they don't know how to shut it off. Good.
Posted by iamcoyote at November 3, 2005 08:05 AMSupposedly, Dobson is to reveal what was said in his conversation with Rove about Meirs this weekend in his radio broadcast. We'll see!
iamcoyote, your right, turdblossom would be operating from somewhere, doing the same old thing for bu$h.
If Rove resigned it would lend credence to the theories of lies from the Whitehouse! I'm all for it!!

Given that Miers is over and done with, why would Dobson be talking about this?
Posted by ann at November 3, 2005 09:10 AMMy bad....Old story that I read in the Co. Springs Gazette, didn't look at the date! Sorry!
Posted by bbtb at November 3, 2005 10:06 AMWaPo today reported that "compassionate conservative" House Repugs are proposing to cut food stamps to legal immigrants in order to pay for the war and Katrina. These idiots are just beyond belief.
A second point; why have Democrats said very little about Pentagon and CIA prisoners? This is not a fight that will win votes, but it would indicate that one US party agrees with rules the majority of the world's nations adhere to. The US has a moral responsibility here.
House Repugs are proposing to cut food stamps to legal immigrants
What? No more food stamps for Wal Mart employees?
Posted by ann at November 3, 2005 11:20 AMKobe Bryant nailes a shot with .6 seconds left in overtime to give the Lakers the win in Denver last night. Hoo-hah. Man, love that NBA. What a game.
Greenspan up on The Hill today, fellas! Did you see his comment on heating bills? I mean, it's almost impossible to understand what the guy says, but he didn't mince words on upcoming heating bills.
So, enough Senate Democrats are saying there won't be a filibuster for Alito. Didn't think so. Slam dunk.
Posted by muckdog at November 3, 2005 01:41 PMOh, yeah, muck everything is a slam dunk to you. BTW, where's that SS slam dunk you said was going to happen. Miers was supposed to be a slam dunk too. A lot of things are coming out about Alito that may change minds-strip searching little girls, serious conflict of interest. Miers looked like a slam dunk too.
Posted by Ga6thDem at November 3, 2005 01:56 PMMiers looked like a slam dunk too.
To continue with the NBA analogy, predicting the Alito outcome is almost as iffy as picking the upcoming NBA champs. Too many unexpected "injuries" could happen before the finals get here.
Posted by rlp at November 3, 2005 05:08 PMYep, rlp, especially since things won't get started until January. I'm happily surprised that the date was set beyond what w wanted. There are two months to learn, and two months to pry the papers out from his time with Ronnie's admin.
Again, I have hope.
