gotta love this, from the Guardian:
"the appearance in court of a top neo-conservative who only a few days ago was one of the most powerful men in the White House marked an ominous milestone for the embattled Bush administration."
another millstone I mean milestone around their necks

the new york times is finally picking up on rocco martino. i wonder if they'll pick up on eriposte's research and the other abundant evidence that links the larry franklin guilty plea to the niger forgeies. juan cole laid out the tentacles of likud party investment in the inner circles of cheney's massive neocon staff and its corresponding favorites under feith in the osp under rumsfeld. rove's top foreign policy advisor in the first term was michael leeden. add to this the pac drafts of the defense planning guidance that had been online for two years before the 2000 election, and you have the bases of the conspiracy to use a greater isreal theory of chaos in the middle east in order to generate insane military profits from tax money while intimidating the democratic party in the 2002 midterm elections for political control that would guarantee the flow of cash. maybe the nytimes will start to notice the blogoverse researchers who were on this story since the first timid explanations by the british government insinuating the forged nigerian documents were planted by us sources. i've always wondered what caused tony blair to cave so dramatically. my theory at the time was that he was blackmailed. england has certainly enjoyed the benefits of energy and military profits since 2000, and the commonwealth is thriving in asia. the italians seem more like eager upstarts in this scenario, under the corrupt influence of berlusconi's gang. but if we take a short look at leeden's writings and involvement with ps2, a bizarre affiliation, a wider scope of ideas is available.
Posted by garycooper at November 4, 2005 01:27 AMFrom Liberty News TV website:
"WHAT IS LIBERTY NEWS TV? We are a progressive television and Internet news program that presents stories and viewpoints that are ignored or under-reported by corporate-owned media outlets such as FOX and CNN."
"AREN’T WE JUST "THE LIBERAL VERSION OF FOX NEWS"?
We think that's an inaccurate description of Liberty News TV, because unlike FOX, we do not DISTORT the truth to serve our political agenda. We merely present facts that are being willfully ignored or casually overlooked by the corporate media. If that comes off as liberal, so be it, but our intention is not to forward a certain political point of view. It is, rather, to expose Americans to a more accurate picture of American politics, so that they can put a halt to what we see as a national crisis facing our environment, our civil rights, and our future."
I’d like to see this thing grow.
Can stongly disapprove for Shrub hit 50% soon.....
Posted by Goyo at November 4, 2005 04:56 AMAlito is the circuit judge who ordered a ten year old girl strip-searched? That happened in DC I believe. The Senate passed the medicaid medicare cuts? I heard the Ohio vote thiefs have infiltrated our state election here in Virginia, that intel straight from the state Dem Party chairman. The Red Cross is denied access to prisoners at Gitmo? Fuck this country.
Posted by Mal Feasance at November 4, 2005 05:12 AMfrom the NYTimes:
A smaller-than-expected 56,000 new U.S. jobs were created in October despite the fading impact of hurricane Katrina, while total job growth over the two prior months was revised lower, a Labor Department report on Friday showed.
The national unemployment rate eased to 5 percent from 5.1 percent in September as the national labor force shrank for the first time since January.
Wall Street economists had forecast that 100,000 jobs would be created last month and the unemployment rate would be unchanged.
The labor market srank and the unemployment rate went down. That tells me that a lot of peoples' 13-26 weeks of unemployment benefits ran out. Yeah, the Fed needs to keep raising rates to slow down this overheated economy.
Posted by rlp at November 4, 2005 08:42 AMJust thought I ask: Are we headed for a Totalitarian state or a Fascist state?
I just thought I'd ask, because I don't recognize the USA anymore!
Posted by bbtb at November 4, 2005 10:20 AMIt appears that Congress has paved the way for the insertion of RFID chips into licences and ID cards.
What is the big deal you ask? Only the fact that the government would be able to track your every movement should you carry said card with an RFID chip. At what point are you willing to give up your right to privacy? Are you willing to sacrifice personal freedom, and give the government more power, just to catch crooks and terrorists easier?
I don't care who is in office, or what party affiliation they have. That any government agency could gain access to this kind of information is scary.
Posted by Luke at November 4, 2005 11:41 AMWe live in a Kleptocracy since 2000.
You will know when we become totalitarian because all the Fedral Penitentaries will be in Alaska and you know when we become fascist because the trains will run on time. :)
