Comments: Frist And Hastert Only Want To Investigate Leaks When It Suits Them

You might want to update the post: it appears that Trent Lott is saying that it was a Republican Senator who outed this...

Posted by whenwego at November 8, 2005 01:49 PM

On the front page of KOS it says that Trent Lott claims it was leaked by a republican!

Whoops, never mind.

Total clownshoes-the Lott of em.

he he, I made a funny.

Twist that knife Trent baby....

You like that smell dont you! You naughty little winger you. Thats republican blood, and it smells like sweet revenge.

Do it again.

Fuck Kos, this is making front-page news on legitimate news sites. Trent Lott just screwed his own party so bad that you know a retraction will be forthcoming. But given that Lott may not run again, and Rove already put him out to pasture, I'm not so sure Lott will play ball.

Sweet.

Vote for Pedro.

McCain, apparently, denies being the leaking Senator. He was my first guess for obvious reasons. Which of its own members will the GOP investigate?

Well, one thing's for sure. Something very, very bad is about to happen to Bill Frist.

Does anyone have a link to an article that includes the quote from Lott? I can't seem to find it......

ann, looks like it was said on CNN, I guess we have to wait for transcripts. Oh, this is just delicious. Suddenly they're worried about CIA leaks.

I predict horses' heads by morning.

I saw this up on raw story earlier -- looks like there's a video link

According to CNN, the CIA has referred the case to the Justice Department.

Posted by RSchewe at November 8, 2005 04:17 PM

Does this mean that we will start to hear the the Prisons were not covert, they were only analyst and ther for it wasn't illegal to mention them?

Posted by goose1 at November 8, 2005 04:44 PM

And then we'll hear that the prisons' husbands revealed their identities, of course.

Posted by dj moonbat at November 8, 2005 04:47 PM

Looks like Lott is backtracking about what he said.

check out the story that the CIA has asked the justice department to investigate the leak of "possiby classified info" on the cia secret prisons aka torture centers as reported in the WA Post last week.

check out this quote by graham in the WA post story:

Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.) said: "Talk about not seeing the forest for the trees. The real story is those jails."

he's calling it like it is, and I admire that. he maybe the leaker for all we know. or perhaps it was mccain or hagel. some moderate who doesn't like the idea of the US torturing.

here's a another idea: "Rep. Christopher Shays (R-Conn.) said investigating the source of the prison article would be acceptable, as long as Congress also investigates the secret prisons themselves."

so it seems like some of the republicans are breaking from the main spin of the leadership, which is good news.

close down the gulag.

This proves without a doubt that the republicans hold the republican party interest above the interest of the U.S. and will sacrific/sell-out U.S. interest to benefit the republican party interest.

That is the definition of the republican party!! This is how Democrats and Independents should define the republicans.

Smooth, are you by any chance in Texas?

Posted by Judith at November 9, 2005 06:33 AM

Hey, what ever happened to those torture photos?

Posted by Judith at November 9, 2005 06:34 AM

Great values, huh? Investigate who let the little secret out, but not the dirty little secret.
