I've just finished reading "The Halliburton Agenda", and if I had trouble sleeping before, I can't now. There are thoughts that I would like to convey, but someone would have to come up with a new keyboard first.

Posted by Enrico Dandolo at November 25, 2005 01:15 PMUnfortunately for Big Time unlike those other Presidents he found lacking to advance his agenda, Dumbya is a nothing more than a lazy moron.
Even if Big Time gets another pig heart transplant and new fuel rods for his Halliburton pacemaker, he cannot really change Dumbya. So Commander Empty Flight Suit ultimately cannot help him achive the final result he wants anymore than the others could.
Posted by Red_Neck_Repub at November 25, 2005 01:28 PMThank you Mary. When I think about back in 1999 when I kept reading in the newspapers of how Bush jr. was setting record after record as a fundraiser, I knew that there had to be a well oiled machine behind him. In the next year while working for the McCain campaign in South Carolina, I saw how ruthless and amoral the machine was. It didn't surprise me too much when he picked Cheney as his running mate.
It seems that everything that has happened scince then has been as bad or even worse than I could have imagined. Reading this brings to mind the convergence of figuretive demons in that campaign, Florida 2000, the tax cuts, 911, endless war-both military and cultural and everything else the furies have unleashed. And to think that all of the human suffering both now and in the future has been for the sake of an experiment in absolutism for the benefit of a few.

Posted by Cellar at November 25, 2005 03:39 PMDon't forget Josh Marshall.
He's been pointing to Cheney as the master of fuck ups at least as long if not longer than billmon.

We thought we got rid of these people when Nixion tanked.
We dropped the ball.

Bartleby, and we hate people like you who support this pResident and this Administration. What the hell was your point? No one cares what you think or feel.
Posted by Judith at November 25, 2005 03:58 PMOne of my friends at work is convinced Bush is a puppet to Cheney. I've never really been able to figure out who runs the white house, but the most dominant figure has to be Cheney.
I think it was just this year that ther was a false alarm of some major security problem in DC. Big Time got hustled into the SUV with the missiles and the machine gun to some secure bunker, while they let George keep riding his bike in some DC park.
That's a true story, never denied. I think it tells us most of what we need to know about who runs this country: Mr. Fuckup, with Bozo along for the ride.
Thanks Ralph!

Posted by The Truth at November 25, 2005 05:07 PMThe worst president ever conjoined with the worst vice president ever. A neat trick. I sincerely hate all Republics for creating this disaster.
Posted by weinerdog43 at November 25, 2005 07:07 PMParadox, come to think of it, you are right. If I remember correctly, there have been two instances where Cheney was secured, while Bush was let vunerable. That should give Bush pause.

What you just babbled is one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard. At no point were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this thread is now dumber for having read it. And that’s saying a lot considering the cast of characters here.
People who hate libs generally want for the return of Jim Crow...
This comment has some rationale and merit. While it may not apply to all, it certainly applies to enough to make it worth mentioning.
This may be a stretch, but I'll use the example of the inevitable, forwarded emails I receive that describe the "good ole days" as evidence to support my statement. The authors of these essays want to return to those days. In the essays, they always mention front porch swings, apple pies, swimming holes, teaching of the basics (RRR) in schools, discipline in schools, lightening bugs, clean environment, little crime, and church. In reality, only a few can reminisce of these days without recalling the hypocrisy of the time. When I read these essays I don't wax nostalgic. Instead, I think about crimes that were ignored such as enslavement, assault and murder of black citizens. I think of the physical abuse that women and children had to endure because they were considered the property (livestock) of their husbands and fathers. I think of the sexual abuse, incest or rape that females had to suffer in silence lest they be accused of soliciting the attacks, and charged as villain rather than victim. I think of those children who displayed abnormalities of mind or body and weren't allowed in schools. I think of the children who attempted to go to school but were not provided the basic materials and resources considered essential for learning. I think of those children who were provided the materials and resources to learn but brainwashed with contrived dogma purported to be "the truth". I think of those who were denied access to the swimming hole, hospitals, voting booths, or the apple pie at a popular diner. The authors of these essays and those hating liberals may purport to miss the clean environment of the past but they seem to do nothing to protect it for their children. They decry Darwin's findings and yet beg for a return to the days when only the most powerful in gender, race, and riches could live in freedom and happiness. Jim-Crow represents their reign of supremacy.
I do miss the lightening bugs.

I guess that includes you too Apolloyon.

Fact of the matter is the Red state/Blue state map of totay exactly mirrors the pro/con slavery map at the time of the civil war. The fact of the matter is "realigment" and the "southern strategy" are a part of history. The fact of the matter is conservatives fought against freeing the slaves, giving woment the right to vote, liberals fought to get African Americans the right to vote unimpeaded by the southern white racists.
Did they not teach political science at stars and bars high school? JESUS MAN!! I strongly suggest you go out and get your GED so as not to humiliate yourself like this.
REALIGNMENT Ever heard the term? How about THE SOUTHERN STRATEGY? Since you seem to have intellect of a four year old I'll teach you this bit of history by telling you a story.
There once was country called the United States of America. They had a political party in the CONSERVATIVE CONFEDERATE SOUTH. They were called the Democrats. There was also another political in the party in the more progressive north. They were called the Republicans.
The Democrats in the the CONSERVATIVE CONFEDERATE AGRICULTURAL SOUTH loved slavery. They saw it as the only way they could compete with the industy in the PROGRESSIVE REPUBLICAN NORTH. So they went to war and got hammered.
They stayed CONSERVATIVE CONFEDERATE DEMOCRATS in the south basically until Lyden Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act in 1964. Unpon signing that document he is said to have turned to an aid and remarked "There goes the south".
He was of course predicting two mainstays of American political history.
1) REALIGNMENT - The REALIGNMENT of the CONSERVATIVE CONFEDERATE SOUTH from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party and the PROGRESSIVE INDUSTRIAL NORTH to the Democratic Party. and...
2) THE SOUTHERN STRATEGY - The strategy the NEW RACIST REPUBLICANS used to make sure this happened.
What all this means Tex, is that the GOP is the party of Lincoln in name only. In todays terms he was a DEMOCRAT of the day. And TRUST ME, womens sufferage was not born in the south. Those KKK lovers were/are trying to keep Black folk from having their right to vote.
And it also means todays Republican party was built on the back of racism and discrimination. Anyway, nice education you have their Tex. And nice party.
From Trent Lott to Jesse Helms to Strom Thurman to the GOP power base in the racist south and the mountain west to the other two dozen examples of the instutional and bigoted recent and present examples of the racist nature of the GOP, I would have to say most conservatives are racist to the core.
