I heard that Bush said that Saddam kicked the U.N. inspectors the last time they were in Iraq.
The way I heard it, Bush was trying to revise history to justify the going in. When, in fact Busy -boy pulled the inpectors out because he already knew he was going to war,
Can anyone tell me where I can find something about all of that?
Posted by Keith Walker at January 30, 2004 09:42 AMBush has stated several times that Iraq didn't allow the inspectors in the country, but this is flatly false. Here is a very good site for finding out about the chronology of the inspectors from 2002 to 2003 that I found on the Arms Control Association site.
Also, the inspectors left Iraq in 1998 because they were asked to leave so that the US could conduct a limited bombing campaign. After that time, Saddam refused to let them come back in without some other agreements. Scott Ritter wrote about this in 2000.
I think this is probably the information you wanted. If not, I'm pretty sure these guys have what you want in one of their documents.
