Welcome to Reality, George! The world is on to you and your scumbag cronies, so it's only a matter of time before political sanity is restored in America.
Posted by pessimist at December 8, 2005 08:35 AMSo Bush has rallied a bit in the polls..never underestimate the power of lower gas prices. And when Bush needs lower prices, voila, down the come. But his lies and deception about Iraq won't get far, despite the constant "Victory" drone up to the elections next week. When even worse violence breaks out after the election (a scenario widely predicted by knowledgeable mid-east experts) that crutch will be yanked out from under George. Last year, in the run up to the presidential election I saw loads of Kerry signs and stickers, and very few Bush. But after his horrible debacle in the first debate, all of a sudden the Bush signs multiplied rapidly. At the time I thought..hey, they now see their guy is an idiot and would lose, so up came their suppport. I think we are seeing some of that now, after months of seeing him plummet, the hard-core are trying to resurrect the boy. You know what they said about Humpty Dumpty......

Posted by Tim at December 8, 2005 10:09 AMBush will get a rally as some people rebel against the hard wall of reality. Better gas prices and holidy cheer combine to make people feel like maybe it wont be so bad.
Crap holiday sales, high heating cost, and escalating violence in Mess-o-potamia will converge to put the chimp into his final death spiral, with the every-man-for-himself crowd reaching for whatever golden parachutes are left.
Since Secdef Lieberman will be loyal to the end, it will be the Democrats fault again for the next 20 years.
Its not like we haven't been here before.
Posted by SnarkyShark at December 8, 2005 10:15 AM"Bush refused to honor the council tradition of taking questions from the audience, as Vice President Cheney, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld and others have done." Just shows what a coward the chimp is.....

Then this recent bump won't last too long. Once those January heating bills come in, I doubt people will think he's doing such a great job.

Posted by bbtb at December 8, 2005 01:05 PMann,
It may not take that long. My power bill just came in and while I used less energy last month compaired to a year ago, my bill is $50 higher.
Posted by rlp at December 8, 2005 03:45 PMGas prices are inching up again in St. Louis to $2.19 from $2.08 last week.
