Comments: Another Abramoff Associate Agrees To Roll Over

Your "It's the Republicans who are in power" theme is a double edged sword. For that very reason they may engineer at least partial avoidance of damages from all this. If the judiciary can be depended upon to intall a candidate in the office of president maybe they can be prevailed upon to forgive various lesser crimes. Tom Delay is a damned criminal and everyone knows it yet there is still hope in some circles he can regain supremacy over the legislative branch. If Democrats, the courts or law enforcement had any real say in the matter would such hope even exist? I think the whole nasty lot of them will get away with much more than predicted here and elsewhere.

Steve- Dole's slimming of Democrats only has merit if it is accompanied by an inquirey or an indictment from a Federal prosecuter. otherwise it is all smoke and no fire. She will have to make accusations of specific officials and then proceed to try and convict them in public. If you have ever watched her on TV you can see that she is not an effective debator. She will hurt the cause more than help it. There are dozens of Republicans who would be more effective than Dole but I suspect that she was the only one who would volunteer.
