Hagel?? you mean Lieberman, right??
Posted by susan at December 15, 2005 11:52 AMDidn't see the Clinton/King thing but Clinton is the master of staying on message. He wasn't sitting there on Larry King's show to get into a cat fight with Poppy Bush about Iraq. His sentiment that we should all be hoping for the mission in Iraq to succeed followed up by noting the bombings in Jordan is not really that hard to understand. Success in Iraq, meaning a stable peaceful nation where the Sunnis do not feel marginalized, is the only way to prevent the creation of a new Palestinian type intifada from blossoming in Iraq and spilling over into the neighboring countries.
I don't know about anyone else here but I certainly don't want that to be the end result of George's misadventure in Iraq. Do you?
Yeah, Clinton's basically a has been. Trying to keep himself relevant. Personally I think he's doing a pretty good job of fullfilling the role I expect from an ex-president. And in three years his example is going to make Georgie's inevitable shilling for the oil industry and warming some executive board seats with his worthless carcass all that much more pathetic.

Unfortunately, he can't define "success" any better than GWB or Hillary can. George wanted the war, Bill sort of approved and Hillary did approve. They're all living in some bubble world where WMD existed in 2003 and the US can "succeed" in Iraq in 2005. Maybe someone should tell them that we don't own Iraq, although by the time we get through paying for this war, we'll wonder why we didn't bother to try to buy it.
Posted by Marie at December 15, 2005 12:16 PMI don't understand this post at all. "Joe Hagel"? Say what? CHUCK Hagel is from Nebraska.
Posted by FiddleMinger at December 15, 2005 01:57 PMAren't we talking about Biden and Lieberman? Because if we are, you're right, especially about Lieberman. What a dick.
Posted by spaghetti happens at December 15, 2005 03:28 PMThat is one confusing post. Since you refer to CT. and De., I assume you meant Lieberman and Biden, respectfully, not McCain and Hagel.
Posted by Erroll at December 15, 2005 03:49 PMThe sub-title of the post is;
The Two Joes, Hagel and McCain.
That's;
The Two Joes, comma, Hagel and McCain.
Not;
The Two Joes; Hagel and McCain.
The post is confusing as hell but it's clear she's refering to Joe Lieberman, Joe Biden AND Hagel and McCain.
Posted by snark at December 16, 2005 05:53 AMDo we click on "read more" around here?
Am surprised that the subtitle of the first item covered in this piece created so much confusion. Had it been "The Two Joes: Hagel and McCain" then you would have a legitimate gripe.
