Comments: King George Holds Court

I know it has been said time and time again...but Orwell was only off by 20 years.

If it's any consolation Marie, our creditors will not underwrite Bu$hco for sixty years. They are already taking steps to limit their liability to the dollar. I share your concern however that about a third of the people here will believe what they're told without question.

And after dismissing his courtiers King Georgie III returned to his Star Chamber for hours of cocksucking, rimming, and barebacking with Crown Prince Big Time, Baron Abu Gonzales, and Lord Rummy, with Ladies Condi and Karen as fluffers.

President Bush: Information Sharing, Patriot Act Vital to Homeland Security

So the first thing I want you to think about is, when you hear Patriot Act, is that we changed the law and the bureaucratic mind-set to allow for the sharing of information. It's vital. And others will describe what that means.

Secondly, there are such things as roving wiretaps. Now, by the way, any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires -- a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we're talking about chasing down terrorists, we're talking about getting a court order before we do so. It's important for our fellow citizens to understand, when you think Patriot Act, constitutional guarantees are in place when it comes to doing what is necessary to protect our homeland, because we value the Constitution.

Apparently the Chimperor was for court ordered wire taps, until he got caught wire tapping without a court order.

Interesting post by Monica.

How does Nero Jr. keep all the multitudinous lies straight?

If he makes an accurate statement, it's an accident!

You gotta give that a$$hole Bu$h credit. He has the knack to take a crappy situation (like Katrina) and leverage that into pushing his agenda (vouchers for religious schools). How can he get away with that? I never thought we'd have a president that made Nixon look good.

NPR is reporting that there is secret spying on Catholic organizations and Animal Rights organizations, WTF?. So much for only spying on those horrible terrorists.

Spying on animal rights groups, PETA and vegans.

Your terror-tax dollars at work.

"There's a dangerous enemy out there!!" "They want to kill Americans!!"

But not poultry.

Kristen Breitweiser has a good item at the Huffington Post that tears apart Bush's arguments about the need for NSA spying, 9/11, and protecting our country. Worth a read and much greater notice:

But his argument against setting a timetable for withdrawal is saddest meme yet: it would "dispirit" the Iraqis and "demoralize" the troops. In other words, we have to stay indefinitely, otherwise we might hurt someone's feelings.

Eco-Criminals

"Attack the financial centers of the country." "Large scale urban rioting." "Actively target U.S. military establishments within the United States." "Spread the battle to the individuals responsible for the war and destruction of life [.] Hit them in their personal lives, visit their homes." "Use any means necessary." "Do not get caught."

Al-Qaeda? Not quite. The above is from a communiqué by Craig Rosebraugh, former media spokesman for the Earth Liberation Front. The communiqué, entitled "A Message to the Anti-War Movement," was issued and distributed by Rosebraugh's new organization, Arissa. Founded on May 12th, 2003 by Rosebraugh and fellow former spokesman Leslie James Pickering, Arissa aims to "create a political and social revolution in the United States."

The Center View: Earth Liberation Front commits most dangerous arson yet
San Diego apartment arson forces 400 to evacuate homes

August 1 through 4, 2003

The FBI is investigating the Earth Liberation Front in connection with an August 1 arson fire that destroyed a five-story 206-unit condominium project under construction in University City, a district of San Diego, California. The La Jolla Crossroads complex was planned for 1,500 housing units, including low-income and market-rate rental apartments, and condominiums for sale.

Animal Rights?

If you think some "protest" groups limit their actions to non-violence, you are sorely mistaken.

Warrantless searches legal or illegal? it depends on the circumstances.

ELF is not al-Queda. ELF sometimes vandalizes property, and they should be arrested and fined for this. There is no way in hell that they are on the level of al-Queda, though. PETA, either.

Want to go after an advocacy group that has promoted murder? Operation Rescue. Funny, I didn't see them on the FBI's list.
