My daughter asked a tough question the otherday;
Dad, she said, why do people give presents for the poor people? Isn't Santa going to bring all those kids presents too?
After thinking about telling her to go ask her mother I responded;
Yes, Santa will bring them presents too, but Christmas is a time of year when it's especially important that we all try and share what we have with others. Just like the three kings brought the baby Jesus gifts we who have more than we need should share with those who have less. It's that love, the love that we show for others less fortunate than us, that helps Santa find all the poor children so he can give them their gifts too.
