Comments: Corrupt at all levels

Just an honest question: has San Diego County become the new Orange County? I ask as someone who lived in both counties many years ago. The last time I drove around San Diego County, mainly in the north part, I was astonished at all the hilltop mansions and the extremes of poverty and wealth.

People cheat because they think they can't win elections fairly.

You aren't far off in your evaluation. If anything, San Diego County has more fundies than the OC, and in their new leveraged homesteads, they are enjoying the fact that increased property values have moved the farmhands further out into the desert.

At the same time, the City Council had a majority of Democrats, and will probably keep that after the 10th. And Donna Frye was elected Mayor, yet denied it on a dubious technicality. OC is a whole nuther place than San Diego, and much improved politically. And one of those mansions belongs to the founder of Qualcomm, and he's a Dem.
