PROUD TO BE A LIBERAL-FINALLY ONE LIBERAL TELLS THE TRUTH ABOUT HOW THEY REALLY FEEL!
Warriors and wusses
I DON'T SUPPORT our troops.
I'm not for the war. And being against the war and saying you support the troops is one of the wussiest positions the pacifists have ever taken — and they're wussy by definition.
But blaming the president is a little too easy. The truth is that people who pull triggers are ultimately responsible, whether they're following orders or not. An army of people making individual moral choices may be inefficient, but an army of people ignoring their morality is horrifying.
So you're willingly signing up to be a fighting tool of American imperialism, for better or worse.

Check out this wonderfully honest democrat/liberal.
He has the honesty to finally admit what you liberals have been MEANING all along.
Again, you wusses don't have the balls to admit in private what this man said in a public newspaper.
Have you no shame?

It is inconvenient for Bush, Cheney, and their Kool-Aid drinkers to acknowledge that in the days after 9/11, both Iran and Iraq were not allies of Al Qaeda, and both could have been approached to help us hunt down Al Qaeda and act as bulwarks in the region against them.
That would be the least savvy thing you've ever written.

Posted by bbtb at January 24, 2006 04:49 PMToby, it is way more savvy than what the White House actually did.

Fuck you, you piece of dense shit.
No liberal on this blog, nor any liberal I know, has ever said this kind of stuff. Instead, I'm sure it's a neo-con writing in to stir shit -exactly as you do.
You murderous fucks send our troops to Iraq to get your fucking oil, the thing you lousy bastards support. Oil and profits, the thing you understand. All I can hope is that you drop your cell phone on the on ramp and eat the ass end of a semi-truck, you worthless excuse for a human. Are your kids as fucked up as you are? If so, I hope they are in your Suck-V when you bite it.
Posted by phidipides at January 24, 2006 05:09 PMAs I explained in another blog, it boggles the mind to suddenly find out that our once mighty military is near the breaking point. This is the same army that has been touted as able to fight two wars at the same time. The same armed forces who has received trillions of dollars throughout the decades that could have been better spent to improve the lives of ALL Americans by improving health care, social security, education, infant mortality...you name it. Have we been hoodwinked all of these years? One small broken country is "kicking" our behind...What happens if we have a problem with Russia or China?
Posted by Parallax at January 24, 2006 05:16 PMDear phidipides,
What is a Suck-V?
Are you sure you aren't GOW?
I'm at a loss again, of how my excercising my right to the freedom of speech can cause you to relish and hope that I might be injured or killed in an automobile accident with my children....
I asked about Shame in the original post. I suspect if you are driven to this level, then Shame ain't in your nature....
Posted by carpediem at January 24, 2006 05:31 PMbeing against the war and saying you support the troops is one of the wussiest positions the pacifists have ever taken
For veterans like myself it is easy to support the troops and want them out of harm's way, and to oppose those who would put my brothers and sisters in arms into harm's way.
For chickenhawks, morons and cowards, it may be more difficult. No wonder you're having a hard time with it.
Posted by Repack Rider at January 24, 2006 05:32 PMHe has the honesty to finally admit what you liberals have been MEANING all along.
These are your words carpe, no one said it here!
Have you no shame?
So you put your words to make up a question?
Have you no shame?
I'm at a loss again, of how my excercising my right to the freedom of speech
Go fuck yourself, death merchant. Now that's freedom of speech!
I know including your children was incorrect. I apologize. I meant to say "If your wife and children are as fucked up as you are," etc. No injuries, please. Drive that SUck-V fast.
This is a drag.....
Posted by Parallax at January 24, 2006 05:48 PMYou know carpe, you come here and denigrate this blog, the people on it and now the veterans on it. You have the nerve to ask, "Have you no shame?"
Let me show you something, have you ever seen what depleted uranium does? CAUTION ADVISED!!
And now the soldiers are bringing it home and it is affecting their wives and children. This is the kind of shit that happens in wars.
I hope your fucking happy!
Posted by bbtb at January 24, 2006 06:01 PMDear Phiphides,
I don't denigrate this blog, or at least I dont' think I do. I think this blog is merely a conduit for people to come together and discuss the current issues of the day. . . with of course your liberal spin.
I am here to try and make sure that at least some of that spin is stopped with facts....
I posted the article of the liberal that without embarrassment states he doesn't support our troops and you wish for my death at the wheel of my car with my children present....
You ask why I think liberals hate america? because when we disagree with you by proving your hatred, you wish death upon others.
With you hoping my early demise in an autoaccident, and GOW threatening me with bodily harm on every post, I can not imagine how I could think otherwise.
MY GOD BOYS AND GIRLS these are Friggin Words. Why get so upset over an ole stupid ignorant right wing Troll's opinions.
Why not write to this article's writer, and tell him he should be ashamed for Not Supporting the Troops....
So in Carpe's world free speech is inviolable but because one oped writer at the LA Times thinks one can't be against the war in Iraq and still wish that our troops don't come to any harm it invalidates every other humans right to maintain that they feel that way.
What a worthless being to even continue to respond to.
I hope you all catch on real soon.

You wonder why liberals are angered? Look in the mirror. You think all liberals are reticent to engage? You are incorrect. And, to let you know, you and your kind are the cause of your little problem with us. All of you neo-cons connected with this...Res Ips.
I hope you get the unitary executive. I hope spying on Americans becomes legal. Let's leave lobbying as it is. Lets hold no one accountable. But the tables will turn. We'll be back. Battling to overcome the demons that reside rent free in your mind. Telling yourself over and over, I'm a good person, I'm a solid citizen, I can contribute.
I've seen some pretty shitty stuff, I wish I could share it with you personally. But you'd turn out to be like some who can walk away without remorse, no guilt, no shame and think what you did was an honor for country and service.
Others like me, question why was I sent to assist others for political gain at the expense of human life.

Yes, I would agree, the effects of meth-amphetamine have finally taken their effects on Crappy. Anyone ever wonder why an east-coast "lawyer" is commenting at such late hours on this blog?
Posted by at January 24, 2006 08:26 PMGood Lord, carpe, do you not recognize satire when you read it? Joel Stein is a humor writer - he works on sit-coms.
But back to the whole breaking the army thing. Why are we taunting Iraq when we've no troops and no one to sign up? Someone suggested that perhaps the laid off employees at Ford could help out, but frankly I'm still waiting for recruiters to visit all of those who are still displaced and homeless after Katrina. Because we know that no one in Congress or the White House actually expects their kids to serve their country.
And we surely know that none of the College Republicans will sign up either. Wait....what about that kid who was paying students to spy on their teachers....he looked healthy, and I'm guessing he'll be needing a real job soon. What better way to show your devotion to conservatism by signing up to fight in the Middle East?
Posted by ann at January 24, 2006 08:26 PMLast post was mine, sorry.
Posted by sf at January 24, 2006 08:26 PMThese people wrap themselves in flags and attack my patriotism while they have never lifted a finger to help as a civilian or in the military. It occurs to me that I have yet to hear anybody that has actually seen blood and death cheerlead for this war of choice. These people are little Napoleans that could out general all of the joint chiefs of staff, they are pantomime Audie Murphys who masturbate watching others kill in their name yet if they were under fire, their pathetic little dicks would immediately invert and they would squeal and run like little girls. That's why I have to respond. I will not have my patriotism questioned by anyone, not Colin Powell and certainly not any chickenhawk that was deferred or did part of a National Guard tour. Read this Bendito: Partial National Guard tour, George W Bush...FIVE deferrments, Darth Cheney. Rove never served, Libby never served, Rice never served, Gonzales never served, DeLay never served, Frist never served, Santorum never served, the list goes on and on and yet, I am supposed to believe that these people hold some kind of moral imperative over me? I think not.
Posted by MargaretPOA at January 24, 2006 08:30 PM....yet, I am supposed to believe that these people hold some kind of moral imperative over me? I think not.
Not only that, Margaret, we're supposed to believe that they are somehow better at national security and defense than their Democratic counterparts who actually served.
Posted by ann at January 24, 2006 08:36 PMPlease, lets not forget Rush, the utimate hate merchant, deferrments!
Posted by bbtb at January 24, 2006 08:36 PMExactly! Again ann and bbtb, NOBODY in this administration or it's cheering section has actually seen what warfare is other than what it looks like on CNN. But those of us that have served are held up for ridicule and don't forget the fact that at least 75% of my VA benefits have gone away under the GOP. I only have dental left and I'll bet they are cooking up a way to take that too.

Posted by God Of War at January 24, 2006 09:37 PM"Anyone ever wonder why an east-coast "lawyer" is commenting at such late hours on this blog?"
Interesting observation. I was just thinking this morning about my lawyer friend. He has his own law firm, yet he is up at the crack of dawn and in the office early. Has been doing this for 45 years. Lunch is something he rarely gets to do, and if he has lunch, it is usually with a client. He works until until 7:00/7:30 and then goes home. He has absolutely no time to be online, yet Carp, a lawyer, is online all the time. What can one deduct from this?
After sifting through the garbage dumped in this thread by the fascist trolls, Steve, it's hard to remember how your piece really hit the mark. You are speaking the truth. Your piece flies in the face of the "strong national defense" twilight zone illusion perpetrated by the corporate media and the republican barkers. Starting with being on vacation prior to 9/11 - to spending $ 1 trillion to hijack Iraq’s oil and bankroll special interest contractors - these cowards have broken the national defense system. Since the Corporate Media is a tool for the fascist, many politicians are afraid to tell the truth. The only way we make progress will be to neutralize the impact of corporate media lies, distortions and character assassinations.

Posted by rlp at January 25, 2006 07:19 AMGOW et al, you would probably be rudely surprised to find that the vast majority of the military is solidly conservative and hates liberals. Don’t agree? Sign up and see for yourself. Hell, just visit any bar near any military base and just see how much the liberal agenda is appreciated. Ask them what they think of Cindy Sheehan, Al Gore, Dick Durbin, Ted Kennedy, John Murtha, Jane Fonda, Sean Penn, Code Pink, PFAW, ANSWER, or John Kerry. Ask them, based of you mountain of evidence, if they think Bush lied. Ask them if they think Bush served with honor in the Guard or if shirked his duty. They don’t live in a bubble and get all the same info you do and I would still bet that you would have a hard time finding a large majority that believes half of the shit the LLL Kool-Aid drinkers believe. P.S. Carp, love you throwing out that article I respect the writer for being honest, even though I detest his opinion. Give em hell!

I do you one better. I go out with vets who've returned from Iraq. It's easy to blather on in a bar next to a military base. What these guys say in private would obviously surprise you. It's like the republi-con party. About 33% are true believers in the Buschco bullshit, the rest are looking at you like you're a moron.
Posted by phidipides at January 25, 2006 08:02 AMI guarantee you Sarge, you won't like what you hear from your enlisted folks. It would go like this, "Yeah, I was over there in Iraq, that President and his chickenhawks were a bunch of morons and got a lot my buddies injured and killed". Come visit the VA hospital I volunteer at, or any VA hospital for that matter!!
The retired officers might say that, they have the luxury!
Besides, most of the people your talking about have never been in the shit, they are retired desk jockeys, or were barking orders, never facing the worst of situations. Now they are armchair quaterbacks who can critique from their comfy retirement quarters. Ask a groundpounder, dickwad, what he thinks of your joyous prez!
By the way Sarge, another one of your stupid troll remarks! Didn't you read Ann up above saying, "Good Lord, carpe, do you not recognize satire when you read it? Joel Stein is a humor writer - he works on sit-coms."

And now this about John Kerry. Guess the days of "anyone can be president" are over, huh?
