Yeah, I had to send a nastygram to Lou Dobbs (who is sometime human between never-ending segments of immigrant tourette's) asking why he only has Republicans as guests.

That is what we should always call them. No more MSM, it's CCM.
exactly right, the corporate media has a republican bias. they share the same interest ($$). dems need to repeat it. mc
Posted by mike at January 25, 2006 05:49 PMMcCain beats Clinton. But who else could the Democrats put up there with her level of name recognition and devotion?
It's not too early to get stuck with her, folks.
You'll need to dump on her more. Like Mother Sheehan has.
Posted by Toby Petzold at January 25, 2006 05:52 PMRas, what would a Democrat have to say about illegal immigration that is any better than what a Republican would? They both want more immigration, but neither will tell you why.
Posted by Toby Petzold at January 25, 2006 05:53 PMSend this to Firedoglake. Let's take them on for this kind of conduct.
Posted by nlacey at January 25, 2006 06:01 PMhere's the problem with immigration: the US has no coherent policy on this issue. If you come from Cuba, you get to stay. If you come from Mexico, you get sent home. It's a stupid relic left over from the cold war. If Mexico elects a communist leader are we going to dismiss all the border guards? If a Mexican swims the rio grande are we then going to let him stay?
Bush has left our borders, for all practical purposes, unguarded.
Posted by Ga6thDem at January 25, 2006 06:03 PMA couple of email addresses for Dobbs:

Looks like the GOP is going to be stuck with Allen, another fundamentalist. Why don't they just give it up and admnit that their model society is Iran!
Posted by Ga6thDem at January 25, 2006 06:07 PMThe next time I have to deal with an emergency at work, I'm going to demand that I be allowed to deal with the situation anyway I please without any supervision even after the fact. If authority without accountability is good enough for an incompetent like lil' Bush, a competent person like me should be a shoo in for absolute power!

Maybe on the weekends, if we're talking El Paso-Juarez. Otherwise, you don't know what you're talking about.
Posted by Toby Petzold at January 25, 2006 06:30 PMLeave it to Toby to take this thread and turn it into something on immigration.
Posted by Steve Soto at January 25, 2006 06:50 PMIs Matt Lauer ordered to permit unfettered dissemination of these talking point by his bosses, or is he actually so ill-informed that virtually every poster on TLC has superior knowledge of the facts/issues involved in Nero's spying scandal?
I actually think it's the latter---these cowardly turds are either too ignorant to perform their jobs, or think that both they and McCain are fellow national celebrities who should maintain cozy, friendly relations, kiss-kiss.
Posted by euzoius at January 25, 2006 07:51 PMMcCain won't make it thru the primaries. Keating 5 scandal will haunt him in the new age of innocence that will follow the Jackoff mess. Also, if the wingnutz could'nt handle Harriet as a supreme, they will never accept a first lady who stole drugs from charity to do her impression of Rush Livlow. The "new" Karl won't even have to make up black "love child" stories, like last time. John lost respect from all sides for sucking up to Bush, post back-stabbing.
Posted by TIKI AL at January 25, 2006 10:11 PMIf they got a Dem Senator it would have been Biden or "Joementum"!
Posted by Goalkeeper at January 26, 2006 07:16 AMToby says I don't know what I'm talking about. Well, I certainly take that as a compliment. Anybody who thinks Sadaam hid his WMD's in Syria is no judge of thinking skills.
Posted by Ga6thDem at January 26, 2006 08:27 AMDoes anyone think McCain will be surprised to learn that the 2008 presidential elections have been cancelled? Will it dawn on him then that he has been enabling a tyrant for the last half decade? Will he even bother to object as the last nail is hammered into the coffin of the United States of America? Or will he simply get in line with the rest of the imperialist enablers for his slice of the corruption pie?

McCain is just palying ball with Bush Co so that he gets the Rove and Republican machine behind hin in 2008. With the trak record of Rove and company in getting their candidate elected, can you blame McCain for playing the ball?
