Comments: Some Observations on Bush and Hamas

It is well known that they don't listen to outside sources, I guess they don't pay attention to themselves or more likely feel we are all too stupid to notice.

They are proud to be stupid, and assume we should get with the program.

"When you kill, don't say you're going to do it. Just do it. And then say you're sorry."

they learned that one from Israel.

What I find odd or perhaps lacking is making a connection between the Hamas electoral victory in the teritories, and the somewhat similar struggles in Ireland and South Africa. The IRA has its political wing, something Hamas could model and perhaps find some success with. Mandela , well if I have to tell anyone how that worked out, nuf said.

There are other examples, I know. Mandela is one stand out. Hamas would do well to follow his model.

There's almost nothing else on the Internet that starts a screaming match faster than talking about Israel and possibile Palestinian soverignity and legitimacy of grievance of both sides.

Nothing like flaunting one's ignorance (or deliberate deceit) regarding Israelis' murder of Palestinians. Perhaps in some twisted minds it was excusable solely because they were Muslims. This vulgar milestone of democracy among brute beasts palpably illustrates the shortcomings of populism. Clearly the Zionists have accelerated their own demise.

We can't order all these new middle eastern "democracies" to hold their elections fast enough, and then we threaten to blow the whole place up (cease Palestinian Authority funding) when the poor misguided voters choose the "wrong" candidates.

Can we perhaps see how muslims view this whole Bushco "democracy" policy as rank hypocrisy and a scam of the first order? Democratic systems can easily get a bad name in historically patriarchal tribal societies, and that is all Nero Jr. is accomplishing. As a simpleton clown, he has no equal.

And as for confusing elections with democracy, that's not just happening in the middle east. Kenneth Duberstein (Reagan chief of staff) was on the PBS Newshour last night openly declaring that Nero Jr's governing strategy is to get "50.01 percent" and cram the policy down the throat of the "minority". This from a pro-Bush Republican operative.

Yep, Nero Jr's a uniter, not a divider. Give him a little more time and there will be a real question whether the old US of A is one of the 122 democracies Nero yapped about is his State of the Empire speech.

Islam as a religion is not yet ready for democracy. Democracy requires acceptance of secularism. Therefore you can have elections in Muslim countries but that does not mean that there is democracy. Because these Islamists will use the elections to get the power and then declare an islamic government compromising all freedom especially for women and people of other religions.

The correct approach will be to support leaders, in these countries who are progressive and make policies not based on religion but on democratic principles. They may be dectators but a secular dictator is better than a Ayatollah on any day.

"Better a secular dictator than an elected Ayatollah".

Has a nice ring to it, but let me think on it a bit.
