Comments: Mid-Day Update: Bush Cuts Medicare For Iraq

"Screw the poor and send 'em to war!"

Official motto of the Bush junta.

these guys should not be allowed to breed

I did a pub crawl in Ft Worth a few days back. It is stunning to see the number of negative statements about Busch painted on freeway over passes and the backs of signs. I guess even Texicans know when things are fucked-up.

Let's hope so. Let's hope so.

Texicans!?

LOL!

BTW, Mexico, you can have Tejas back now. We've got no further use for that spawner of satanic political shysters. Oh, but we are keeping Austin and an easement to it.

Ahhh, yes.....more sophistry from the left. Steve is regurgitating the MSM lie that the amount spent on Medicare, education, blah, blah, blah, ad nauseum is being reduced.

Reduction in the rate of increase means there is still an increase. I know that it's a bit confusing to our friends on the left.

Dippityfuckshiteater,

THAT would be sophistry, parasite. Thank you for providing such a glaring example. Fuck you, and fuck your Rovian talking points. At a time when the ranks of the poverty-stricken increase, cutting aid to them is, in a word, immoral. And unChristian too.

Screw the poor, send 'em to war! Its the GOParisite way!

Nope, a reduction is a reduction especially to the recipient, who needs an increase commensurate with costs.

It was only a few years ago that Republicans argued the exact opposite during the Clinton years. Of course, they argued exactly the same during the Reagan years. Double standards are so sweet. When the Party Line does a 180, the little Republican lickspittles merrily reverse.

Peace be upon you, God of War.

Hey, Mikey....

I know Dog of Whine and Steve Al-Soto are gonna get mad at me for this, but you're quite wrong.

The spending for all these programs are still being increased, even after the rate of reduction has been curbed, to a level waaayyyyy beyond the level of inflation.

Steve and the Dog just hate when sense and truth come out.

Whether it's Christian or not matters not to me as I am a Zen Bhuddist.

But, as a matter of reason, again I insist that a reduction in the rate of increase does not constitute a decrease.

So you get a 4% increase in your salary every year. As a cost cutting measure you employer cuts the increase to .5%. Is your salary lower than what it would have been? Has the salary you expected decreased. What a maroon!

And it's not that you're a maroon, so much. It's that you're ignorant and won't educate yourself. Ergo, you remain stupid.

Compared to the current year:

Agriculture Department budget down 6.5 percent.
Commerce Department down 3.7 percent.
Education Department down 3.8 percent.
Interior Department down 5.9 percent.

I could go on, but I bet you stopped reading when you realized you were a fucking idiot. But that cut to education won't hurt. Look at you. You're smart enough.

That's an inside joke kind of thing...its a rip on some toothless wingnut holding a sign outside of brain dead Terri Schiavo's hospice calling people (aka normal humans) who thought the poor woman should be allowed to pass with dignity "maroons."

Apparantley, moron wingnuts don't know the difference between an idiot (moron) and a color (maroon).

Posted by God Of War at February 6, 2006 07:25 PM

GoW, I thought it was a reference to the Bugs Bunny line, "what a maroon, what a ta-ra-ra-boom-de-ay." But I could be wrong. Of course, the term "maroon" should never be confused with the idiot wingnut misspelling of "moran" on a now infamous rightie protest sign.

Actually, in this case the overall rate of inflation is irrelevant. The rate of increase in costs of medial care is rising faster than the average inflation rate. Hence, your claim is meaningless. Note, I said "an increase commensurate with costs."

The Republicans, as usual, are trying to suppress votes in Ohio, Georgia among other states: Poll tax and other restrictions
With Bills Nearing Enactment, Groups Slam Voter ID Regs
by Brendan Coyne
Feb. 6 – As legislatures in four states have passed laws requiring photographic identification at the polls, voting rights groups are alarmed at a trend they say appears to mark the resurgence of poll taxes and other voter-discouragement efforts, despite a lack of evidence that an ID fraud problem exists.
Last week, Ohio Governor Robert Taft and Georgia Governor Sonny Purdue each signed laws mandating voters show government-issued photo IDs in order to cast their ballots.
...
On of the more comprehensive analyses of voter disenfranchisement in the US was conducted in 2003 for the progressive democracy think tank Demos. The researchers interviewed state officials in 12 states and scoured news databases for instances of prosecutable voter fraud. They concluded: "Election fraud appears to be very rare in the 12 states examined. Legal and news records turned up little evidence of significant fraud in these states or any indication that fraud is more than a minor problem. Interviews with state officials further confirmed this impression."

A previous attempt to re-institute a poll tax in Georgia was thrown out by the courts. Diebold isn't enough for these people.

"Bush proposes to kill or dramatically slash 141 programs for savings of almost $15 billion. Congress is likely to reject many of the cuts, such as a proposal to kill the Commodity Supplemental Food Program, which provides food aid to the very poor."

May he rot in hell.

When you've got nothing but a technicality argument you've got to run with it.

Give dipshit a break.

He's only working with what he's got.

Mikey, Mikey, Mikey....(sigh)....

Actually the rising cost of health care is what is really irrelevant in this situation, as the out-of-pocket expense for the patient remains fixed in the form of a set deductible amount.

You've lost the argument...commence with the name calling.
