More foder for the troops, huh Steve. Y'all do a hatchet job on Paul Hackett then want to tell the troops we're going to win in November. Keep puffing on that cigar, November will see another victory for our Republican Party and its candidates.
Posted by peter at February 20, 2006 03:30 PMHonestly, I can't believe that Dubya is still that high among conservatives. What does he have to do to lose their support? Marry a gay couple on live TV while performing an abortion and signing an income tax hike? It's not a party -- it's a cult.
Posted by Edward Copeland at February 20, 2006 03:40 PMPeter, two words: spell check.
And I'll be saving your post for November.
Posted by Steve Soto at February 20, 2006 03:40 PMYeah Steve, we'll be seeing another historic election where the Party in the WH wins more seats for the third time. Even after he rewrote history the past two elections. Your Party is a shadow of the Party of Truman, Kennedy, and LBJ.
Posted by peter at February 20, 2006 03:47 PMYeah Steve, we'll be seeing another historic election where the Party in the WH wins more seats for the third time.
Man do you have some keen powers of prognostication.
Got any stock tips o great one?

And like all cults, it's faith based. Peter no doubt really believes the GOP will pick up seats in November.
Posted by herbal tee at February 20, 2006 04:29 PMActually, this poll appears to support the idea that there is friction between the Republican party and the "conservative movement." In the end, the "movement" will win: Reagan still has great appeal to individuals who identify with all political stripes.
President Bush will leave office in 2009 and the party will swing right again....under a new Republican President. Thank GOD!
How his - Prsident Bush's - popularity, or lack thereof, influences the mid-term elections has yet to be seen. However, I am confident that the Republicans will maintain there majorities in the House and the Senate.
Understand: the Republican Party is far more open to dissent and far more adaptible tan the "opposition party."
P.S.
"And like all cults, it's faith based."
Moreson your belief that the Republican Party is a cult.
Posted by Bagley at February 20, 2006 05:05 PMI wonder what Steve did with all the 2004 election posts he said he was saving for later?
Just asking.

Bagley, I can't believe you actually wrote that (and a tremendous roar of laughter went up from the Blogisphere).
Posted by Judith at February 20, 2006 05:42 PMHannity wants to know "what they are thinking in the White House" regarding the port deal. When Fox is questioning it, Bushco is in trouble on this one.
Monitoring Fox would make anyone with common sense queasy.

That must be on that "parallel universe" Mary Matalin was talking about.
Posted by ann at February 20, 2006 07:15 PMThere are republicans on the other side of the earth in China?
If Mary Mattedhair says there is an "alternate universe", it must be true. If Jesus told Bush to invade Iraq, can we sue Jesus for all the damage?

Judith, how do you reconcile your comment with the one posted by TIKI AL?

So, Ann, I do suppose that Hannity has escaped the vast right-wing conspiracy / Rovian control in the talk radio world. You must be a fan of his (now).
Posted by Bagley at February 20, 2006 08:25 PMWhen it comes to Hackett, I can't believe those mother fers in the DLC doused him.
I am supporting him as an independent. He will run independent and I will support him as will everyone I know. In fact, we'll run the third party everywhere we want. That will force the democrats or one of the parties to do their job or be tossed out forever....
Posted by Rona at February 20, 2006 09:01 PMWow, these automatons have come to their senses?
Isn't it a little late for that?
Sounds rather selfserving, since these people can't run for
office again. Now that there are 30k plus dead Iraqis,
2500 dead young americans, noe these Einsteins wake up.
Pathetic,
Posted by BK at February 20, 2006 10:05 PMYou have to wonder how long 73% of the republican will be stupid enough to support bush. Alright, it't a cult. I understand.
Posted by smooth at February 20, 2006 11:07 PMHa ha, you wonder why the diehards refuse to come to their senses? Because they feel more comfortable not having to think. Just label the pile of manure as "republican," and they scoop it up and swallow it eagerly. If a big locomotive came down the tracks and had an elephant banner on the front of it, they'd go down with big smiles on their faces. A dog can learn, but a lot of these yokels are brain dead. Let them loot the treasury but call themselves "conservatives," and that is fine. Torture, kill, and maim, and call themselves "fundamentalists," and that is fine, subvert the constitution and strip away human rights and call themselves "patriots." and that is fine and dandy. When will this insanity end? Well, a fool's paradise ain't no real paradise, and even the blind will someday see the light.
Posted by Jack at February 20, 2006 11:43 PMI guess Karl better create another war for the base, which, according to Empty Wheel over at DKos, is what Shooter was really working on down at the ranch.
Or another 9-11
