This does not bode well. I feel undercurrents here that are truly frightning. With Nigeria flaring up, and anti-american goverments being elected throughout the world, manipulation of oil markets will become strategic weapons to put us in our place.
Thanks a lot Republicans for having your heads firmly up your butts. Brilliant work, just first rate.
We will never forget.

Posted by SnarkyShark at February 24, 2006 04:30 PMIt is an internal problem here too. There is an area a few miles away from where I grew up that has gasolene storage tanks, supply terminals, pipelines and other petrochemical products for a several state area in close proximity to a large city. I drove out that way to visit a friend recently. Four years after 911, there is still apparently no security around this petro product supply area.

The chemical industry and nuclear power industry have fought tooth and nail not to have to install any new security after 9/11 either. Since Congress has received so much money from these industries and their lobbyists, they have rolled over and played dead rather than forcing prudent security measures. It's absurd. How many "security moms" live near chemical factories or nuclear power plants and are somehow under the impression that they're "safe" because Bush is President?
Posted by ann at February 24, 2006 05:33 PMWhile we are now debating on the Dubay and port control what is passing of you guard. All on this one are against it Reps and Dems. But what has been of it the NSA spying!!!!!!
Here from the Wayne Madsen report.
“February 24, 2006 -- NSA expands surveillance of journalists. According to NSA sources, the signals intelligence agency, which has been at the center of a political storm over President Bush's warrantless wiretaps of U.S. citizens, has expanded the surveillance of journalists identified by the Bush administration as alleged recipients of classified information. The surveillance database, part of the intelligence community's "Denial and Deception" operations and once known as "Firstfruit" until WMR revealed its existence last May, now includes transcripts of phone calls and e-mails between journalists and their contacts and associates.”

I guess they are so involved in lies, got away with all, that one more does not matter, they do are not even care about anything anymore!
My believes are;
Can’t we not get together and see that this administration who was not twice elected by the people but by the Supreme Court and Diebold machines has been a failure since the beginning! Are people so stupid to not see what is really happening!
Our buying power has being taken away, by a bunch of political cronies that have enriched themselves in the named of we the people!
I thought we elected those politicians to represent us instead of been a mouth piece for this administration. But sadly the news Media is also lacking. We are in Iraq because the Media did not do his jobs to really check and give us “truth to power”.
I have only an answer to help redeem our country! Is to impeach this administration and have them all be judge by the “World Court” for Crime against Humanity.
Whoa, whoa, whoa........
Just who the fuck created Osama and his crew in the 80's?
Wasn't that the CIA?

Whoa now! That's like claiming the CIA installed Saddam and gave him WMDs.
And it's just like claiming the CIA sent textbooks to Afghani school kids touting Jihad against the infidels (Russians at that time).
But Buschco can claim they were after WMDs...uh, fighting terrorists....uh, Saddam was a bad guy...uh, freeing the Iraqi people...uh, Democracy!! That's it! Civil war....uh, democracy breaking out like a case of teenage pimples after a chocolate fest and pizza in the Middle East!
Posted by phidipides at February 24, 2006 07:08 PMIt is just like claiming that the CIA visited or at least knew he was there. Osama in the Hospital in UAE 2 months before 911
