Do you have any doubt that litigation will reveal it was Cheney who authorized Whitman to make her all-clear declaration? There had not been time even for the most cursory examination of the WTC air by EPA at the time of her declaration.

The White House turned over last week 250 pages of emails from Vice President Dick Cheney's office. Senior aides had sent the emails in the

That is oh so true, so true. It's like a get-out-of-jail-free card, only it's a get-out-of-life-sans-responsibility card. And saying they're responsible for something without having the consequences on those rare occassions when they get forced into that concussion, er, concession, doesn't cut it.
I hunger for the days when they start showing up in court in shackles like they did to Susan McDougal, getting jail time, when they get ruined financially, when they're shunned and mocked and forced to live in a shabby downtown motel, eking out a pitiful existence from their Social Security check and recycled aluminum cans.
Cunningham's lawyers are afraid he'd die in prison if he gets 10 years. I say, too bad. Shoulda thought about the consequences before he betrayed 280 million Americans for his filthy lucre. How many people died for want of those funds that went into his bribes and those government programs they bought? How many people suffered for the misdirection and mis-allocations associated with his bribes and extortions?
How many people have died because of Whitman's lie about Ground Zero? I saw her on The Daily Show several months ago, and Jon was somewhat sympathetic to her because she clearly isn't one of the bush faithful. Yet these people's deaths and sufferings are on her hands, and she gets to write a book and appear like a good republican.
