Mary: this deal will go through if either I or my friends profit sufficiently from it. F*ck any other reason, pro or con. I believe I am God, and know what is best for this nation.
Love, George

You've got to admit, he's got that 'stratiegery' thing down.
Posted by phidipides at February 25, 2006 10:07 AMWilliam Buckley says the fat lady warmed-up and sang loudly in Iraq. Top-down the neo-cons recognize the failure. Once the beer-swilling meth addicted wife slapping red-staters understand this, "thangs" are going to get interesting.
Posted by phidipides at February 25, 2006 10:17 AMThere is so much friggin' news, I have a hard time keeping up with all of the reading. I am only talking about the corruption and incompetence news. Holy crap.
Records not kept here?! I find this really fucking interesting.
"The administration did not require Dubai Ports to keep copies of business records on U.S. soil, where they would be subject to court orders. It also did not require the company to designate an American citizen to accommodate U.S. government requests. Outside legal experts said such obligations are routinely attached to U.S. approvals of foreign sales in other industries."
Why the special treatment George? I still think that the motive for this sale is a special deal to allow W and his friends to launder money through Dubai; but what do I know, I am just aware of the massive pattern of corruption in this admin.
Dems are requesting yet another investigation. But, hey, what is one more piece of uncovered evidence that is not covered by MSM? I sure wish that TV News had even an ounce of responsibility towards America and the people.
Some interesting questions have been asked in this request of the GAO.
I wonder, however, since the GAO has been doing a really excellent job of exposing (albeit their exposures are unreported) the corruption and scandal and incompetence of this administration; I do wonder how long it will be before Bu$hCo writes an EO to disband the GAO?
Yes, Chuck, the more we learn about the deal, the more questions arise.
Here is one more example of the Dems fighting for our Country.
Dammit people, these Reps are working hard to take back America.
It would be great if we could convince the MSM to cover this shit.
In the meanwhile, I am trying to think of a way to help them get the truth of their hard work out.
This is an excellent site for writing letters to editors. You are able to send to multiple editors all at once. I have used it to send, and have had published, letters to the editors all over the Country.
I believe that even if my letter is not published, it offers the editors an idea of what Americans care about and what we are aware of.
I believe that if enough people start writing newspapers about the issues that matter, they will get a clue.
However, I am thinking that most of America is pretty lazy and/or to busy and do not read much. I think that most people watch the news. So, I am wondering how do we get MSM - corporate- ass-kissers-benefiting-from-Republican-legislation - to change their ways.
I am, personally, looking for ways for me to feel like I am doing enough. Unfortunately, I cannot get out much to participate in protests and demonstrations, I just physically cannot do it. So, what can I do from home that will make a difference?
No matter how hard our Reps fight, it will not change until the people - We the People - make it change.
Posted by Anjha at February 25, 2006 11:11 AM7 Emirs + 6 Ports = 1 dirty bomb = martial law = dictatorship. You do the math...
Cheers, James K. Sayre
21 ports James. But I guess the number of ports is really of no consequence because one dirty bomb is one too many.
OK, last link and last post; I have to accomplish something.
Here is Slaughter's PDF: "America for Sale"
I saved a copy, will read later.
Have a great day everyone.

Posted by herbal tee at February 25, 2006 12:02 PMSorry, all. Our site has once more been assaulted by the notorious spammers and they've run us out of some of our resources that are needed to post comments without errors. (sigh) I'll need to get the system admins to reboot the mysql database to resolve the problem. For the most part, your comments are being accepted.
Posted by Mary at February 25, 2006 12:08 PMI did the above because something will not let me post, here goes.
The New York Ports Authority is against this deal. As they are the product of an interstate compact (a type of contract) and our constitution forbids the altering of contracts without the consent of the parties involved, New York and the other relivant ports should take this to court where it can be declered unconstitutional.
Posted by herbal tee at February 25, 2006 12:10 PMThanks Mary. There seems to be about four or five types of "e-crack" on the internet and my computer seems to like them all, so I'm never sure it it's this system or not. : )
Posted by herbal tee at February 25, 2006 12:13 PMThis is reassuring (form CNN):
The following ports have contracts with P&O:
•Corpus Christi, Texas
•Freeport, Texas
•Galveston, Texas
•Houston, Texas
•Beaumont, Texas
•Port Arthur, Texas
•New Orleans, Louisiana
•Lake Charles, Louisiana
•Baton Rouge, Louisiana
•Gulfport, Mississippi
•Norfolk, Virginia
•Newport News, Virginia
•Portsmouth, Virginia
•Wilmington, Delaware
•Miami, Florida
•Camden, New Jersey
•Newark, New Jersey
•Davisville, Rhode Island
•Baltimore, Maryland
•Boston, Massachusetts
•Portland, Maine
•Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
•New York
I should say from CNN
Posted by bbtb at February 25, 2006 02:13 PMI'm shocked! Another corrupt republicon politician, from Florida no less! I'm sure it went for make-up only

Well Phidipides, Bush wants to be known as the 'stratiegery thinker'.
