Comments: The Wheels Come Off Bush's Presidency

The Dems should block everything the Rethugs want to do. How long ago was it that Harry Reid shut down the Senate to get an agreement for action on the investigation on how BushCo twisted the Iraq intelligence? Early November, and the Rethugs were to set a timetable by mid-November. And what since? Not a damn thing.

Reid promised to stop the Senate in its tracks if the Rethugs carried out the Nuclear Option. He should do it now if the Rethugs continue to give Bush and his criminals a pass on their breaches of national security; on it's defiance of the Senate as a co-equal branch; and on the Rethugs' abuse of process that eliminates the Dems from any power to represent their constituents (since the Dems do represent 55% of all Americans!).

For God's sake, the most senior Dem on the House Intelligence Committee has to hold a "forum" in the fucking basement when the House is not in session, just because that fat fuck paper-boy Sensenbrenner says so?

I say it is time to say "Fuck You" to the Lying.Fucking.Bastards. Time to finally become a real opposition party!

Nothing -- I mean NOTHING makes me happier at this point than watching this sorry excuse for a president sink even further.

He's not a lame duck; he a dead duck.

If Bush had a brain (I know, I know), he'd save himself further humiliation and simply tender his resignation.

His remaining time in office is guaranteed to be a waste of time and energy. Plus, if Democrats win back control of the US House in November, he's surely going to be impeached.

"I say it is time to say "Fuck You" to the Lying.Fucking.Bastards"

Very analytical, Liberal.

"Plus, if Democrats win back control of the US House in November, he's surely going to be impeached."

In the first part, highly improbable. In the second part - even if the first part is true - ....notgoing to happen.

Is that all you have Bagley? No defense of the administration? The wheels came off awhile ago but Bush thinks he's still driving.

Mary said: "Outrage over Portgate is creating a perfect storm for Bush and his presidency."

And 10 days ago it was "NSAgate".

And in May it was "DSMgate"

And in September it was "Katrinagate".

And in October it was "Plamegate" (for the 4th time...)

And in the middle of February it was "28-gauge-gate".

It is ALWAYS something gate. Every 1-4 weeks another BushCo fubar happens, and - in best enabler fashion - we let Bush off the hook for previous fuckups while we hyperventilate over the new and improved OHMYGODdidyouseewhathedidthistime.

They are playing us like a rented goalie.

And every time a new something-gate comes along, we lemmings go over the cliff and into the sea that the GOP has prepared for us, jabberwoking all the way to the wetness. We feed off each other verbally and nothing gets done non-verbally.

In March it will be "Somethingelsegate" - and life in progressiveblogworld will continue its sucking slide...

Every example you;ve given has happened scince the 2004 election. Bush was considered unbeatable a year ago and is below 40% now, about a 15 point 'slide'. Let's see how the voters react to this perfect storm before dismissing it.

This situation also highlights the error in giving Bush the benefit of the doubt way-back-when, and the problem with trusting him and forfeiting the natural oversight role of congress (and the courts).

Bush gained such momentum those 3 years after 9/11 that all this foolishness is much harder to stop now. Everyone, 'cept us chickens out here, seems to have learned their lesson way too late.

Just beware the liberal BBC... they seem to have found an issue with the ability of Democrats to take over:

Look to the British for social, political and economical brilliance...my favorite squib in a book I value: "100 Ways to Totally Screw Up Your Life."

Not relevant Bagley. You still haven't managed to come up with a single defense for the misadministration's policies. Unless you are the owner of a corporation or a large institutional investor, I fail to see how anyone is advantaged by having this corrupt idiots in power. And even they are disadvantaged to the extent that the environment is being despoiled and political corruption is rampant. Oh, but I forgot that Bush is a "godly man..."
