They said they'd bring integrity and honesty (or dignity or whatever it was they said) to the White House. It just has to be pulled out of them, that's all.

Smells suspiciously like an Agnew dump.
Get a more acceptable thug to run as the incumbent Veep to maintain the criminal control of government with Diebold leading the way..

Posted by Brian Boru at February 27, 2006 11:15 AMI thought John Mitchell was the archetype of the Attorney General dedicated to disregarding the law instead of upholding it. Bush found a better model however.
While the AG still withholds (on national security grounds) emails that were subpoenaed, Libby's lawyers are asking for President Daily Briefings (PDBs) that supposedly are the crown jewels of intelligence. I guess they have no sense of irony. Or a shread of respect for the law.
Yet another major reform needed: A new method of selecting and approving an Attorney General. Perhaps a panel of candidates selected by the senior judges of the US Circuit Courts of Appeal, from which the President can choose?
Why is the AG permitted to decide which documents to produce upon subpoena? Why doesn't the FBI just conduct the search of the email and other paper archives? Isn't that the way other search warrants are conducted by law enforcement?
When Plame was outed several American CIA operatives were killed. Now, one wonders who has the intelligence gathering ability to collect everything electronic from the White House and compare notes with a prosecutor? Ain't life interesting.
Posted by phidipides at February 27, 2006 11:29 AMDoes anyone see anything wrong with national security information being discussed via e-mail? I mean e-mail is not secure!
Posted by mtcousin at February 27, 2006 11:42 AMWas the 18 minutes of missing Nixon tape among the newly "found" E-mails?
Encinopide: What the hell are you talking about? CIA killed? Please explain.

And your references would be......??
Posted by at February 27, 2006 02:19 PMI see on the always entertaining Wayne Madsen site that he had a call from an anonymous source more than 3 weeks ago who had a working knowledge of how the WH archived emails and knew where the missing ones were stored so Wayne contacted his "backdoor" contacts at the Fitzgerald camp and after relaying the message suggested they send over agents unannounced to retrieve the emails ... good story even if it's not verifiable. Timeline works.
Posted by mainsailset at February 27, 2006 03:56 PMMissing emails.......sounds like the 18 minute gap on the Nixon tapes. "The sleep of reason produces monsters".....and with this administration its stupid monsters who repeat the past. (Many of whom worked for Nixon)
