Comments: Mr. Popular

Awww.. those people are all just fringe left wing US Democrats. See the guy about 10 deep 4th from the left? He works for Barbara Boxer.

Is it my imagination, but didn't Bush stop in Afganistan also?

Posted by Judith at March 1, 2006 09:00 AM

I'm sure Afghan prez Karzai loved having a photo-op with Bush. Not.

Last time I saw a crowd like that was when I went to see Pope John Paul II...except everyone there more or less liked the guy.

Posted by God Of War at March 1, 2006 09:06 AM

That doesn't look like an unfriendly crowd to me. They all look like they're giving our President a warm welcome.

Posted by suresh at March 1, 2006 09:10 AM

Suresh,

How much does the RNC pay you to utter such mindless bon mots?

Posted by Christopher at March 1, 2006 09:38 AM

*****

Suresh's mirror always shoots back an insanely stupid fuck. An ugly one, too.

Posted by God Of War at March 1, 2006 09:59 AM

Jeez, you guys don't catch subtle, do you?

Posted by idiosynchronic at March 1, 2006 10:06 AM

Yeah, but even at the Pope's funeral they booed Bush.. not kidding.

Posted by The Truth at March 1, 2006 10:24 AM

Christopher and God of War:

No I do not work for RNC or DNC. I am my own man and am not afraid to call it a sped as sped. On the other hand you guys see everything through "Democratic Party Glasses". If you guys do not open your minds, you will never figure out how these Republicans beat Democrats in every elections. If you do not see your faults, you will never improve and Republicans will win every time.

Posted by suresh at March 1, 2006 10:31 AM

Christopher/God of War:

By the way the first post attributed to me was not posted by me. Somebody is using my name to say that the crowd looks friendly. I did not see it when I replied to you guys.

Posted by suresh at March 1, 2006 10:34 AM

"Democratic Party Glasses"?

I think I want a pair of those.

Posted by Danton at March 1, 2006 10:35 AM

When the heat for a "warm" welcome is provided by burning US flags, and posters of animals with Bush heads dripping blood from vampire teeth, it is still considered a "warm welcome"?? (CNN)

Posted by TIKI AL at March 1, 2006 10:40 AM

Perhaps the media should report:

* 100,000 people hate Bush and protest

* 999,999,900,000 people are indifferent or think Bush is just fine.

(Rounding India's population to 1 billion for easy math).

Well, the good news for India (and China) is that they're going full-speed ahead with Nuclear power plants for energy generation. That's why Bush is there. When the world runs out of oil, the Environmental Activists will have successfully shut down the US economy, but the lights will be on in India and China. Another reason to outsource jobs to those countries: reliable energy sources.

Posted by muckdog at March 1, 2006 10:42 AM

100000 protesters in a country of 1.1 Billion people. Do you call that a significant protest? And majority of these 100000 are communists and muslims who would protest against any American president. Let us not see something that is not there.

What I found in India when I was there last week that majority of people do not agree with Bush's Iraq policy but they have high respect for America and American people. That is why they will treat Bush with respect.

Posted by suresh at March 1, 2006 10:42 AM

MSNBC just reported an "angry crowd of at least 100,000 waving black flags and chanting death to Bush."

Only a little more friendly than the crowds who greet Bush in Los Angeles, Seattle or Rochester. LOL!!!

Posted by Christopher at March 1, 2006 10:57 AM

Guess the white house does'nt have CNN in the basement where the paid trolls are working. The truth might distract them from their fictional duties.

Posted by TIKI AL at March 1, 2006 11:03 AM

Apparently 100000 people means nobody in the 'pubes playbook. No wonder they can ignore the poor and uninsured at home.

I'm sure for every person in that crowd, there are at least another another twenty who feel the same way but don't have transportation, have other responsibilities, or just think protesting won't make a damn bit of difference. Just like here in the US.

Posted by Sharon at March 1, 2006 11:23 AM

Frankly, I'm surprised they aren't all laughing at him.

Posted by Ga6thDem at March 1, 2006 12:00 PM

Newsflash !! IF Bush ever went out in public in the USA the same thing would happen. A full 2/3 of the country can't stand him. Of course, all you'd see on the news is a guy with a rainbow wig and a couple of tatooed lesbians.

Posted by T2 at March 1, 2006 12:06 PM

You just know it galls Bush that Bill Clinton would generate twice the crowd Bush does anywhere he went and they'd be roaring with support and admiration. The only enthusiastic, receptive crowds Bush encounters are screened, inspected, background checked, searched and loyalty tested beforehand. What must it be like for Bush to go to bed at night knowing literally billions of people the world over detest his sorry ass?

Posted by steve duncan at March 1, 2006 12:42 PM

steve duncan,

True.

No matter where President Clinton traveled, he was received like a rock star -- it was Kennedy-esque.

What a contrast to Little Boots. Crowds respond like he's infected with bird flu and might sneeze their way.

Posted by Christopher at March 1, 2006 12:44 PM

And we have protesters here.
Seven get arrested

I like the one guys take on the deal:
He said he became a Catholic Worker in 1983 when he was active in the Nuclear Freeze movement to stop the spread of atomic weapons, because he agreed with the Worker’s approach. “They say if you see something that ain’t right, fix it. I see half the world starving without a crust of bread while our resources are going to wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. This is the right thing to do and it’s good to show your colors.”

Posted by Sharon at March 1, 2006 02:13 PM

Well wonder if Bush thought it was just another "focus group"...you know just like those anti-War rallies held throughout the world and in the states that he and his corporate media enablers totally blew off and failed to adequately cover or report on here in the US?

Posted by emal at March 1, 2006 02:40 PM

Hell, I thought all the Indians were over here in the DC Metro area! I'm glad they're protesting against Bush! They're fucking educated! Not zombies like white American born Americans here, who sit on their butts watching TV all day long. I'm glad Indians have the FREEDOM to protest this asshole when we Americans, DON'T!!!

Posted by Mal Feasance at March 1, 2006 03:37 PM

"But a very large turnout of Muslims also protested Bush's arrival in the country."

These are the same people who protested the cartoons depicting Allah, who celebrated 9/11, and who believe in Sharia law: you are willing to give them credibility?

Unbelievable!
