Comments: The Medium Is The Bu$hCo Messenger

Bob Schieffer is probably one of the last. He has certainly given his opinions on CBS, and I often wonder how much longer they will allow his sarcasim towards Bush and his Administration on air.

Judith - Bush has is so far down in approvals, It's just a matter of time before the networks will start telling the truth in order to get more viewers and the papers more readers. My local papers rarely have any WH news - it's usually buried in the back pages - after the obits. Looking forward to that one!

pessimist, did you leave Edward R. Murrow off your list for a reason? Saw "Good Night, And Good Luck", excellent DVD, with informative special features with original staff, and Murrow's "kids".

I did leave Murrow off for this reason - he was no longer active as a journalist before Vietnam became a big story. Therefore, he wasn't in a position to do to Johnson/Nixon as he did McCarthy. He died April 27, 1965, just days before the first combat troops (not 'advisors') arrived in Vietnam (May 3, 1965). Walter Cronkite - and the other journalists mentioned - didn't openly oppose the war for at least three years yet.

Had he lived, I would like to think Murrow would have spoke against the war. I watched him on TV with my Dad, he came across as being sincere.

TIKI Al, I also watched with my parents as a child. I think if he were alive today, he would be asking the right questions and definitely opposing the War.

Judith: "Froggy" on the "Buster Brown Show",did not come across as sincere. Plunk your magic twanger, Froggy. (kaboom)

Clean out your bomb shelter, be afraid, very afraid. So whats changed? Iraq war instead of Korean war. Don't politicians study history?
