Steee-rike. Sorry, but I'm fed up with the chimp-enablers peeing in the corner that THEY painted themselves in.

Dem 08 pres candidate better not have any war baggage.

Good one from Garrison Keillor:

Day of reckoning for the Current Occupant

The head of the National Security Agency under President Ronald Reagan, Lt. Gen. William Odom, writes on the Web site NiemanWatchdog.org that he sees clear parallels between Vietnam and Iraq: "The difference lies in the consequences. Vietnam did not have the devastating effects on U.S. power that Iraq is already having." He draws the parallels in three stages and says that staying the course will only make the damage to U.S. power greater. It's a chilling analysis, and one that isn't going to come from the Democratic Party. It's starting to come from Republicans, and they are the ones who must rescue the country from themselves.

Keep the focus on Hiss Royal Hiney-ness Napoleon Wannabe and his craping all over the Constitution, his lies to Congress and to the American people. We have had enough! His popularity continues to fall as he and his regime have people arrested for wearing a t-shirt while he talks about "spreading democracy". Yea right George. His elitist base of "the haves and the have mores" are the only ones who continue to make excuses for him. His lies and hypocracy are becoming so apparent now that even fellow Republicons like Chaffe are no longer ruling out censure.

To quote a famous comedian:

"Everybody excited about March Madness...the big NCAA tournament? Here's how it works: It starts at 65, then 64, then 32, then 16. It's just like Bush's approval rating."
---David Letterman:

Down he goes!! As long as we continue to put positive energy into what is right. Don't stop.

Also, PLEASE don't forget to call and/or write Senators Harkin, Boxer, Kerry and Menendez and thank them for standing up for our rights by supporting censur and helping to keep our democracy alive. Feingold's comrades who are brave enough to stand up and speak the truth need to hear from us too. Let's keep the campaign going. It is happening and we are part of the solution. Be proud.

For all that are concerned about Veteran Issues; From, VA Watchdog dot org :
**************

SENATE VOTES DOWN NEW VA FEES -- AND ADDS MORE MONEY TO THE HEALTHCARE BUDGET -- VOTE WAS 100-0 -- BUT, REPUBLICANS VOTE DOWN AN AMENDMENT FOR EVEN MORE VA FUNDING

So, we got a little...but the really big bucks got held up by the Republicans, once again.

Don't these people ever learn.

But...you watch...they will all be out bragging about how they voted down new fees and added more money to the VA budget. They won't say that what they really did was just replace the money that the fees would have brought in.

So...the VA budget stays underfunded!

Story here...

By a 54-46 vote, the Senate rejected an effort by Democrats to win an even bigger increase in the VA budget.
*****************

In conclusion folks, the Veterans and soon to be Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan get fucked again by this Republi-con Congress who have theirs already.

bbtb, the Vets are fighters (literally). What groups can get together to hold marches against this horrible Republican Congress and Administration? If the vets get out there; everyone will pay attention.

I have to tell you, whenever I attend a peace rally and I speak with the "Vets for Peace" guys, I get extremely emotional.

My brother was in Nam. In 1972-74. He was there for "clean up." Drove around trucks full of bodies. He (unlike the thousands that did not get busted) came back only to spend some time in Leavenworth Federal Prison for smuggling back drugs. He died in 1992 of alcoholism.

War is hell.

Do you belong to any groups that can organize.

Currently the Senate is voting to raise the debt limit to $9 Trillion.

To put this into perspective, I heard a guy testify on L&O last night about what a trillion is. He said that trillion is more than all of the people on earth, more than all of the people who have ever been on earth.

That is a fucking lot of money that we all owe.

So far vote is down party lines. Dems are so much more fiscally responsible.

52-48 just passed; those pricks

Posted by Anjha at March 16, 2006 08:34 AM

Anjha:

Dems are fiscally responsible but Republicans have stuck 'Tax and Spend" lable on them that they cannot shakeoff. This bunch of Dems in the Congress are not even trying to expose these "Taxcut and Spend" Republicans by strongly speaking out and making rounds of talk shows to get media attention.

And with that little extra cash, bu$h is out doing a little more bombing in Iraq!
Must be the new advice James Baker and his group gave him! "Bomb them into submission, just a reminder of who really is in charge! Yeah, that's the ticket!"

Anjha, I am a member of DAV (Disabled American Veterans). Although a lot of Veterans are against bu$h, some are reluctant to speak out against him in public. It has to do with getting arrested and losing their benefits. The benefits they fought so hard to get! Nobody, wants their file or claims reviewed (unless it's for an increase in %), it's a hassle.

I'm really sorry to hear about your brother. Some of us survive our escape mechanisms.
A lot of people ask me why I look so young for my age, I tell them, "It's all in the pickling technique"!
But seriously, I'm grateful that the VA finally figured out what was truly wrong and the correct medicine was given.
I do not over indulge or binge drink anymore. It's nice to know that you are not really an alcoholic but that you were temporarily escaping reality.

Posted by bbtb at March 16, 2006 09:09 AM

bbtb, if a vet gets arrested for protesting they lose their VA benefits?

Are you fucking kidding me?!?!?!?!

They fight for freedom but cannot be free?!?!?!?!?!?

Posted by Anjha at March 16, 2006 09:39 AM

Not necessarily, but if your serving an extended time in a county jail, or state or federal prison (on a misdeamor or felony charge) you cannot by law, be entitled to your benefits.

Cnn has another winner of a poll going:

Is Jessica Simpson right to refuse to meet with President Bush at a fund-raiser?

Jesus H. Christ. He's the president not the king. He doesn't get to summon his court jester when he wants to. She's a person, not a possession and in this democracy she's allowed to refuse an invitation whenever she wants.

We are not free anymore, and the sooner we understand that, the better. Fear is the first step in establishing a dictatorship. Veterans are afraid of speaking out because if they do, and are arrested, their benefits are taken away. Democrats are afraid of speaking out because they are called unpatriotic or worse, terrorists. Americans are afraid to speak out or protest because of the possibility that their name will end up on a list of possible terrorists. Those who are journalist or in the media are afraid that if they don't tow the line, they will find themselves unemployed. Yeah, I would say that the march towards a dictator in America is right on schedule.
