Comments: The Fantasies of the Fiscally Irresponsible

slightly OT:

Speaking of fiscally irresponsible Billmon has a post that illustrates the beauty that is Muckprick's world.

Simp, John Snow is definitely not one to constrain himself with reality. He is part of the community who believes, "We want tax cuts without deficits, so we'll rely on some magic to make it happen!"

Any gay person who embraces the republican party of homophobes is more worried about their money than equal rights. I have no respect for this materialistic hypocrite.

In Sullivan's defense (and I do so reluctantly), Bush's support of the anti-gay marriage amendment was one of the deciding factors which made him vote endorse Kerry. Of course, that doesn't explain voting for Bush in 2000. Mostly, Sullivan suffers from a severe case of ivorytowerism, where he doesn't have to reconcile his thoughts against the real world.

Has Sullivan has decided to move into comedy now? Too many sessions with Bill Maher, maybe?

That list has to make anyone laugh out loud. One might as well justify one's political positions by relying on regular subsidy payments from benevolent space aliens from Planet 10. (And even that would assume we ended our generations-long battle with the mole men.)

Wouldn't it be easier (and seasonal) for Sullivan to wish for armies of leprachauns to hand over their pots of gold?

"Wouldn't it be easier (and seasonal) for Sullivan to wish for armies of leprachauns to hand over their pots of gold?"

That would at least be much more likely to be approved by a Republican congress...

Why Sullivan gets such attention has always escaped me. His whole record is an unending string of always being wrong when it counts.

The national debt trippled during the Regan admin. Bush is trying to out do him. They have something else in common.

I was talking to an old farmer in the mid south during the Regan years. "I turn on my TV, watch the news and then feel like slitting my writst or hanging myself" he said with an air of dusgust. Can anyone remember any good news or at least interesting news? I miss Clinton and sex in the oval office. How about a replay of Kenneth Starr's $500/hour lawyers arguing over the true meaning of the word, is. Those were the good old days when the new anchor gave the high brow to the low blows in the white house and we could smile and say who cares. I didn't have a nickle riding on none of what they thought was so important, scandalous even but now when I go to fill my tank I find out a nickle's worth won't get me back into the street. Maybe we could just do without a government for a while, couldn't be any worse could it?

Sullivan is an ass. Why anyone pays attention to him is beyond me.
