Great timing since I sent my thanks about an hour or so ago and asked that my e-mail address be added to Feingold's mailing list. Last week I e-mailed my Republican senators, Shelby and Sessions, expressing my desire that they support the censure motion knowing that this would never happen, but at least they know how I feel.
Actually, I have become a bit paranoid and I have been listening for a knock on the door from
Fox Security, but so far I seem to be ok. I don't use a phone much so I haven't noticed any telltale clicks in the background, but I do have some Diana Krall playing in the background!
I sent one card and check to Green Bay. That's all.
Posted by at March 20, 2006 05:49 PMI called Green Bay. Whoever answered also asked for my name, age, phone number and address. They were very nice. I sent a followup email the next day wishing him strength.
Posted by mainsailset at March 20, 2006 05:53 PMSent one page letter and a check to the Green Bay office. Called Talent and Bond, which was a waste of time. Republicans aren't interested in what you have to say. Polite but disinterested.
Posted by Judith at March 20, 2006 06:14 PMCard and check to Green Bay a while back. Reward good behavior. Go Anjha!
Posted by iamcoyote at March 20, 2006 06:16 PMGood gawd, pess, you are quick! Thank you.
The petition to support the Censure Resolution is on the PAC page. I was emailed a word doc of it to print out and take around to friends and neighbors; highly recommend that.
The idea is actual Thank You cards.
These will garner much more media attention. The emails are not enough. Not for something so important.
I sent a card and itsy bitsy checks to Green Bay and Milwaukee. I sent an email to about 15 or so people who forwarded to 15 or so people (someone who can deal with exponents, please do the math...)
As for blogs where I posted. Hard to remember. First links that come to mind:
I posted just about everywhere that I could, some places had to wait to verify me, so it took time and I did not have time to go back and follow the threads. I found it elsewhere as well; where I did not post it, someone else did.
The responses that I did read were positive and people seemed to be participating.
I will continue to search where it comes up.
This tally will help a lot when it comes to figuring out how big it has gotten.

found it here, posted by oppressmenot
I vaguely remember this site, it keeps coming up in the search, but I can't find it.
Know it went here; can't find it now.
Posted by Anjha at March 20, 2006 06:37 PMOne of the comments that I read, in my hunt for where did the Campaign end up, said that Senator Feingold cannot accept campaign contributions at his Federal Offices. Commentor redirected sending the $ to the above PAC.
I still feel that the money and the thank you cards swamping Green Bay will make bigger media impact, even if the $ must come back to us or be redirected to above PAC.
Cross that bridge later.
For now, it seems that many people have participated and have spread the word.
Thanks for all of your help. You guys have been more than wonderful.
I will direct Paula here to see the responses.
I need my heating pad now so I will check in later.
Thanks again Pess.
Posted by Anjha at March 20, 2006 06:41 PMSent mine out last week along with a small donation. E-mailed everyone I could think of.
Anjha, I saw it almost everywhere I visit, great job BTW.
I also asked my Senators to back Feingold!
I asked a question at Low and Left last week: Can anyone have a bigger pair of boot licking Senators than I have from AZ in Kyl and McCain?
Fred and Judith, thanks for your response already.
Posted by bbtb at March 20, 2006 06:45 PMI emailed both Durbin and Obama asking them to support Feingold. Haven't heard back from either, usually only takes a day or two for a response from these guys. Have heard Durbin in support....Obama is more a waffle. Sent thank you to Green Bay office and emailed thanks through Russ' website.
Posted by ann at March 20, 2006 07:06 PMI sent a letter, told him I would vote for him in a Presidental race and that I would send money to his campaign.
Posted by Betsy at March 20, 2006 07:56 PMOh, you all are fantastic!
Also called both my Senators last Tuesday, asked them to support Feingold. Staffers said they were getting lots of calls.
And, I forgot to mention, but announced it on Thom Hartmann's show Tuesday a.m.
I think that we will have come very close to the goal. 10,000 - ya think?!?!?
Thank you.
Posted by Anjha at March 20, 2006 08:28 PM I saw your first mention about calling, send cards…. But living on the East Coast, I did not see the point. I did sign 3 years ago to impeach Bush for lying us into the War. I knew he was lying from the first
I have signed on the moveon movement that was send to my senators and representatives of my demand to censure bush. It also will send all addresses of Senator Feingold.
We've reached 81% of our3rd NEW goal of 500,000 signers! (408,633)
My repug Senator does worry about his future he did says he might vote for censure. It should be Impeachment
This is the numbers of people who have signed on this issued. It should be more especially after hearing today stupid answered from the assholes answered in Cleveland, unless we do not have more people signing on this. I send it to anyone I knew! The Europeans would really want to joint as they do feel that this piece of shit does hurt ours world.
My knowledge of news does come from C-span, Amy Goodman, Mosaic on Link TV, The left Coaster, Crooks & liars, the Raw Story, Steve Clemons, the Guardian….. sometime it is Le Soir.Be who is in French.
When I listen to Wolfe on CNN, I scream from his terrible reporting the news. Cafferty, his 2 minutes appearance should run the show. At least he says it like he sees it. More honest, I guess.
Fred ; Session is the worst bush sucker I have ever seen. He will die for this man. I have seen him and every time he is there I could put a straw in his mouth and he would suck bush shits. He his a phony that has been parts to screwed us all. Be careful of those phonies!!!!!!
Here is why you should be supporting Feingold.
Concrete Evidence of FBI Spying:
Looks like Democratic Senator Finegold got it right after all!

ACLU Releases First Concrete Evidence of FBI Spying Based Solely on Groups’ Anti-War Views
Pennsylvania Group Labeled “Pacifists” Targeted for Handing Out Flyers in Town Square
PITTSBURGH - March 14 - The American Civil Liberties Union and the ACLU of Pennsylvania today released new evidence that the Federal Bureau of Investigation is conducting investigations into a political organizations based solely on its anti-war views.
Two documents released today reveal that the FBI investigated gatherings of the Thomas Merton Center for Peace & Justice just because the organization opposed the war in Iraq. Although previously disclosed documents show that the FBI is retaining files on anti-war groups, these documents are the first to show conclusively that the rationale for FBI targeting is the group's opposition to the war.
“It makes no sense that the FBI would be spying on peace activists handing out flyers,” said Jim Kleissler, Executive Director of the Thomas Merton Center for Peace & Justice.
“Our members were simply offering leaflets to passersby, legally and peacefully, and now they’re being investigated by a counter–terrorism unit. Something is seriously wrong in how our government determines who and what constitutes terrorism when peace activists find themselves targeted.”
According to the documents released today, the FBI initiated a classified investigation into the activities of the Thomas Merton Center, noting in a November 2002 memo that the center “holds daily leaflet distribution activities in downtown Pittsburgh and is currently focused on its opposition to the potential war on Iraq.” The synopsis of the document is provided to “report results of investigation on Pittsburgh anti-war activities.”
The FBI memo points out that the Merton Center “is a left-wing organization advocating, among many political causes, pacifism.”
“All over the country we see the FBI monitoring and keeping files on Americans exercising their First Amendment rights to free expression,” said Mary Catherine Roper, a staff attorney with the ACLU of Pennsylvania. “These documents show that Americans are not safe from secret government surveillance, even when they are handing out flyers in the town square – an activity clearly protected by the Constitution.”

Note my comment up at the very top and my tongue-in-cheek comment about Fox Security and wiretapping. I checked my stats on my blog a short time ago and who should have visited but the Defense information Systems Agency which is a branch of DOD. Interesting
Posted by Fred at March 21, 2006 01:30 AMGreat idea Anjha (and pess for highlighting this)... will do after work today, to which I am now running late getting to....I am big fan of rewarding good behavior, and Russ deserves this big time! Thanks!

Phoned Levin and Stabenow three times.
Posted by cnmne at March 21, 2006 09:47 AMI thanked Russ through Air America Radio's website. We need more democrats like Russ to lead the way.
Posted by Joseph Aiello Jr. at March 21, 2006 09:58 AMIf we don't make it happen, who will? Enough complianing, wallowing, bitching, depression. Enough!! Let's move! This is real, concrete, and easy to do. (just called my RO-bupli-BOT corporate ass-kissing Senators, Chambliss and Isakson, telling them to support censure).
Thanks for all you do too. You're efforts are sorely needed. You are initiating ACTION, not just words. For far too long, action has been the missing link. We've got an opportunity now. C'mon people. Let's not miss it.
