*th-whump*!
That's the sound of 8" of snow hitting the ground on the first day of spring after one of the driest and mildest winters on record.

Oh, boo hoo. Grow-up Pat. If the shoe fits...., if it looks like a duck...., well, you get the idea.

How to Spot a Baby Conservative
Remember the whiny, insecure kid in nursery school, the one who always thought everyone was out to get him, and was always running to the teacher with complaints? Chances are he grew up to be a conservative.
Posted by CG at March 21, 2006 05:04 AMThe Bush administration wants to sell off forest land, by auctioning more than 300,000 acres of national forest to fund a rural school program.
We don't need those damn National Forest. What's the big fuss? Those poor rural school children Bush cares so much about should have an education. I wonder if he could sell the Washington Monument while he is at it. Surely that land could be put a to better use.

Posted by Judith at March 21, 2006 05:06 AMJudith, thanks for the heads up on Oprah. I caught the rebroadcast last night and it was very well done, very enlightening and I think every American should be required to see it. For those of you who missed it, the show was about poverty in this country. People need to venture out of their gated communities and meet some of the working poor and homeless. I think people would be surprised to find people living like a they're in a third world country in our own backyards.
Posted by ann at March 21, 2006 05:54 AMMSNBC joins the real world today, as does my local paper. Guess what - they think the US might be building *permanent* bases in Iraq !!! Glad they finally figured it out - better late than never, jerks. As long as we can cause turmoil in Iraq, we can continue to keep troops there. And we can cause turmoil for a long, long time. Bush never planned to leave Iraq, as these permanent bases attest, and every single comment he makes to the contrary is a plain lie.

Article calculates U.S. invasion responsible deaths of over 250,000 civilians in Iraq
I learned when I was very young that you cannot solve violence with violence. Why is this such a hard concept for dur leedur?
All of this killing was done in our name.
I don't know about you, but this really pisses me off.

One of the down sides of a representative theocracy.
