I think we all know that TV is the medium that is both the most powerful, and the most dominated by corporations/conservatives.

The point I'm trying to make here is that we need to take a hold of internet video before corporations do - and we all know they will.

I'm not sure how to do this, besides sending people good online videos we find, and also supporting organizations that are utilizing the medium.

one positive sign is that COA News (http://coanews.org) now offers a Free "Video Alert Service". Once a week, they send email subscribers their latest news videos for free. Through-out the week they scan their list of independent media affiliates and feature the best independent news and public affairs video available.

You can sign up for free here:

Well, me, anyway. By "we" I mean those of caucasian ethnicity who don't care what color your skin or hair or accent you speak with but get associated with the racists and superioritists that so infiltrate the gop and the right.

I knew you didn't mean anything disparaging to people of color, Duckman. Your reference to white men was totally apropos! Since the Christian white male dominated society is what is destroying this country.

Being of Hispanic descent and the current state of affairs on immigration, it was an attempt of inside humor.
How ironic that my wingnut sisters will deny their ethnicity while supporting bu$hco and his policies! I guess they don't feel dark enough yet!

bbtb, got it, just wanted to make up a new word, superioritists!

So, what do you know about what these hispanics are doing in Latin America?

I refer you to this piece at First Draft!

And, no, I checked, it isn't April 1st, and it's not from the Onion, or Jesus General!

I'll comment later, Duckman. I just lost my response to computer breakdown. I have to head out.

Posted by bbtb at March 24, 2006 09:56 AM

no prob. I'm pretty speechless about the whole thing. And it's still not 4/1/06!

I loves me some Holden, but "extreme right-wing gay Latino power brokers"?

Forgive me while I voice incredulity. I'm sure they exist - Miami has quite a latino population that despises Cuban leftists and a creative arts culture all in one area - but surely there's not that many in the Administration to do what Madsen's claiming.

Shouldn't it be "An Apropos..." rather than "A Apropos...?"

ps - thanks for posting on this!

heh, didn't notice the missing "s" until after I hit post!

Posted by iamcoyote at March 24, 2006 11:14 AM

I can hear it now, "My Guatemalan-ness, my natural heat", from the movie "The Birdcage".

Nothing really suprises me anymore about this administration. They probably had Gannon slipping in the back door, (literally).

But seriously, aren't these the same people that bu$h crucifies to gain votes from the Roman-Catholic, (muy-machismo) anti-gay hispanics? People like my religious, repuke, hispanic brother-in-law!
I can't say how much influence they can have in the Latin American community unless they have butt-loads of cash. It's true that all Latin American countries have a base of gays and tran-sexuals (& genders) but as far as political strength...I just don't see it being too powerful.

Through my wife's co-worker; her husband is a policeman/former politician (KY) who got out of politics because of the hypocrisy, however, he stated that politicians are about 1/3 gay. My questions continued and he stated that he's more conservative but like the priesthood it's relatively easy money and they can stay in the closet untroubled.

In further reading on Madsen's Report on the 23rd, I was more suprised to find out about Clarks affiliation with lobbying. He will still be an improvement as Sec. State or Defense but as far as President...he's out with me now!

It's a shame Babs Bush did not know about the Indian abortion clinic back in 1946.

TIKI: just think of where the US would be today without Junior. We would not have to get Roto-Rooter in to fix the nation.
