My guess would be that Karl Rove at this point wouldn't let Dick Cheney lick the sweat off his balls if Dick was dying of thirst. Shooter, by being the biggest freak in modern political history, may very well have ruined the GOP for a long time. If Rove has an endgame that convincingly severs the ties between Bush—and the GOP at large—from Cheney's enormous string of misdeeds and fuckups, I bet he takes it.
Posted by dj moonbat at March 27, 2006 08:02 PMSomething strange here. Wayne Madsen laid claim to steering the Fitz's FBI team to the emails in January. How could Rove have been so certain that the 250 emails would not implicate himself, Bush or the whole lot of them? Karl doesn't cooperate with anyone, ever. Color me skeptical.
Posted by mainsailset at March 27, 2006 08:14 PMFrom all the signs it looks as if Karl is ratting out Cheney in order to get a reduced sentence in his upcoming plea bargain. The first rat off the sinking ship gets the best deal from the prosecutors.
This could be a win-win for America: Cheney is indicted and resigns, to be replaced by someone acceptable to both parties (not Condi; please, please, not Condi). Then, with no danger that Hastert could become President, impeach the Chimp.
It worked to get rid of Nixon. Agnew was replaced by Ford, which meant that Spiro wouldn't become President if Nixon was removed.
Rove gets off, but so what? Without the Chimp, he's just a nasty little fucker who'll be hated by everyone on the planet.
I hope Fitz is smart enough to forensic check the e-mails to make sure they don't share the same birthday.

Posted by tempus at March 28, 2006 02:05 AMI just heard Andy Card resigned to spend more time with his family on Rachel Maddow's show.
Posted by iamcoyote at March 28, 2006 05:16 AMUh, more coffee please. Rachel Maddow said he's resigned, he's not spending time on her show...
