Yes, I brought up religion, not in the context of speaking of religion for religion's sake, but speaking for the sake of the future of our Country and the danger that I see in what DeLay is doing and what his followers are doing.
This Country was NOT founded on Christianity. We are NOT a Christian Nation.
This has been exploited and manipulated to the point of becoming a danger to all of our freedoms and to the sanctity of our Constitution and our very way of governance.
Our Founding Fathers were Deists. They sought freedom from forced religion and freedom from the limitations of bible induced ignorance. When humans are subject to the dogma of organized religion and narrow views on humanity all of humanity suffers.
DeLay's mission is now to travel around the Country and recruit more people to this very strange view of what our Country is supposed to be. They have taken quotes out of context and claim that this Country should be "the city on the hill" and want to convert everyone to a Theocracy which endangers all of us.
Their very strange view is that there are "chosen" ones: white, male, wealthy, Christian.
These people are the only people who matter. The rest of us are SOL. Science has been disregarded because it does not serve their needs. As for the destruction of our planet, National Debt, moral standing in the world; who the fuck cares, say these freaks, cause 'the end times' are coming.
What they preach is the antithesis of Enlightenment, Enlightenment is what propelled America forward as a world leader.

The Brownshirt & Crucifix Party is taking their deteriorating position very seriously and making radical decisions to repair the enormous holes blasted into the USS Corruption, which had finally started listing to port. I had hoped that DeLay had the power within the party to lash himself to the mast, dragging the ship down with him. Unfortunately, no.
Note that when decisive action is needed to save the Radical Republican Party, it is taken. When such action is needed to save the interests of the country, not so much.

Posted by Anjha at April 4, 2006 07:49 PMjust a note about our country being founded on a religious basis: the founding fathers did not give a damn about being religiously persecuted, their main concern when writing our "holy" constitution was the economic freedom it secured for them from the english monarchy at the time, and the constitution itself was a guideline for economic infrastructure at the time to establish national rules for interstate commerce, a universal and standard monetary system in the colonies, and to set up a government to regulate these guidelines. the founding fathers only added the philosophical bullshit to persuade the perception of the population and make it appear as if it was about something more than money.
you see, they couldn't give a damn about freedom, they wanted economic control of the prosperity that was to come in the new world: keep in mind that the bill of rights was not added until after the congressional congress ended, the federalist papers were written, and certain states (new york being one) would not ratify the constitution). their actions of making the public assume they had freedoms were surface appeasements. and our government has always been the same, controlled by the elitest that have the power and money to control the government. so the idea that we were not based on religion should not be played in the same arena, it's all just political bullshit. politics has not evolved much since our nation was founded, what has is the way the approach to control has.
oh, and fuck bush and the corporate oligarchy of capitalism here in america. and the population will never wakeup because they are too content with the material pleasures they gain from corporate imperialism and inhumanity. when will the world end, maybe i should read the bible or just assume the mark of the beast and hell are near being upon us?
