It isn't necessarily Hadley. THere's this bit too:
During this time, while the President was unaware of the role that the Vice President’s Chief of Staff and National Security Adviser had in fact played in disclosing Ms. Wilson’s CIA employment, defendant implored White House officials to have a public statement issued exonerating him.
Unless Fitzgerald is playing fast and loose with dates, Fitz says clearly that Condi had a hand in leaking Plame's identity.
Posted by emptywheel at April 6, 2006 11:38 PMThere is actually nothing new in that statement. From the indictment, we know that Libby discussed Plame with Rove and Fleischer. And as has already been pointed over at thenexthurrah, emptywheel misread that sentence she quotes. It only refers Libby who was Cheney's "Chief of Staff and National Security Adviser".

What William says. I saw the sentence and I assumed that Fitz - who's been so careful as to not expose Novak's source would never be so blatant about naming the source and therefore he must have been referring to Cheney's NSA.
William,
"There is actually nothing new in that statement"...I don't know about that. You are reading the statement as Libby discussing Plame with two WH officials but read Fitz's statement carefully. He says other WH officials discussed Wilson's wife with reporters both before and after the Novak article.

You are correct (as usual). The sentence construction is a bit odd. We know Rove is one WH official to which the sentence does apply. Does the sentence imply that there is at least one other official that spoke to the press about Wilson's wife both before and after July 14? The sentence certainly says the Libby talked to these other officials about Plame. Maybe we're back to Pincus's source (who, on July 12, leaked the identical story that Libby was giving to Cooper and Miller on that day). That would suggest somebody on AF 2. Of course, I am holding out the theory that the other official in the White House is Alberto Gonzales.
