Steve,
Seymour Hersh's latest piece is burning up the blogs, and with good reason:
http://www.newyorker.com/fact/content/articles/060417fa_fact
Unfuckingbelievable. For once I would really like to see Hersh being proven false.
Posted by MisterOpus1 at April 8, 2006 10:04 AMI saw the same article, MisterOpus. Last week I posted a link here to an article in the Chicago Tribune about Bush's plans to start making more nuclear weapons. Coincidence? I think not.
Posted by ann at April 8, 2006 10:11 AMI posted this yesterday. Ron Paul (R. TX) is one Puke that I have respect for.
He gave this floor speech the night before last at midnight...
He is sure that the war drums are pounding. A war with Iran would be the Holocaust that these bastards are looking for.
Posted by Anjha at April 8, 2006 10:21 AMYes, the US has had several more years of democracy for Bu$hCo to combat in his takeover...but the timeline, though slower, is chillingly similar.
Posted by Anjha at April 8, 2006 10:25 AMPlease someone, can Bush go to war with Iran without Congress approving or is this part of the war on terror, in which he doesn't need approval? You know, the Bible predicts that the end of the world as we know it will be fought in the middle east. Have they all gone insane?
Posted by Judith at April 8, 2006 10:49 AMOf course, this would make all of Bush's latest problems disappear, wouldn't it?
Posted by Judith at April 8, 2006 10:51 AMJudith, according to Cuntaleeza when she testified in Congress a couple of months ago - anything having to do with the "war on terror" has already been authorized.
Congress need not approve.
But again - this is the administration's legal justification, which we all know is questionable at best.
Torture, spying, no warrants...whatever the fuck Nero Jr wants to do.
Posted by Anjha at April 8, 2006 10:58 AMJudith: 'Of course, this would make all of Bush's latest problems disappear, wouldn't it?'
exactly. |-(
So, from here on out we no longer need Congress to approve any specific war, as long as it is called a war on terror?

According to the gapped-tooth bitch herself.
Boxer was as appalled as I am.
The bottom line is look at these last 5 years:
has this administration bothered to follow any laws? Partnered with Congress in any way?
No, they do what they want. He believes that he is a King and is going for "his legacy". If he has no legacy because they create armageddon, all the better.
No Soul. Sociopath. Evil.
Posted by Anjha at April 8, 2006 12:53 PMThere is something very odd here. The time stamp on the poll says 7:11 PM ET June 16, 2005
Normally, such polls close within 24 hours, so it is difficult to imagine how the numbers would change.

Thanks for the link regarding Hitlers ascendency, very informative and very scary.
Have you noticed in the quote from Bush that he "would do what no Democrat or Republican, if elected in the future, would have the courage to do."
What is this "IF" elected in the future????
I think he is giving us a heads up on exactly what his plans are, and what many of us have suspected for a long time. Bomb Iran, declare martial law, and appoint himself President (Dictator) for life.

Posted by joregon at April 8, 2006 02:33 PMAnjha: Ron Paul's article was very, very good. There may be a hope, albeit faint, that some Repugs will realize just how screwed up their policies are. I wouldn't hold my breath, mind you.
Posted by tempus at April 8, 2006 02:36 PMJoregon, excellent point. Did Bush just tell us something and no one caught it? The obviously is always the easiest to overlook.

Wow, that's a darn clever post. I think you need to go on some medication. They have stuff that can deal with paranoia
Posted by David at April 9, 2006 09:10 AMThink it says a lot more about MSNBC and its audience than Bush.
