Comments: White House Linked To 2002 Phone Jamming Scandal

With this BushCorp crowd, all assumptions of deviance are verified.

Its amazing, really. You assume the worst with these rotten scum, and you're invariably justified in your assumption.

I hope this surprises exactly no one.

What will amaze me is if this 'dot' ever gets connected, and reported on by the RWCM.

Sadly, however, this will likely not even rate a single mention on any of the bobblehead shows, or be used as ammo by the Dems.

Pity, that, as it just invites more of the same treatment and reinforces their belief that there's no price to be paid for breaking the rules.

And they will do it again.

Posted by Judith at April 10, 2006 07:30 PM

It's hard for me to believe that Ken Mehlman had nothing to do with this. I have watched this slimeball lie and spin with no credibility or shame for years, this scheme is right up his alley.

Well, this group of criminals are about to "buy the farm". My only prayer is that once we take back our Government and all branches, we take these yahoos and hang them all for the world to see. Maybe Americans are truly waking up, as the following article from MSNBC states.

With less than seven months remaining before the midterm elections, Bush's political troubles already appear to be casting a long shadow over them. Barely a third of registered voters, 35 percent, approve of the way the Republican-held Congress is doing its job -- the lowest level of support in nine years.

Judith- my fear is, that they actually believe that not only will starting another war solve all their popularity problems, but somehow, being bombed will have the opposite effect for Iranians, who will thus 'change their regime'.

Go figure.

They couldn't win an honest election if they PAID people to vote for them.

Posted by Sharon at April 10, 2006 08:08 PM

zzyzx, they are like the trolls. They will believe anything they want to believe, true or not doesn't enter the equation.

We already knew that both elections were won through deceit and trickery. The latest revelation comes as no surprise to any of us. My question is what are we going to do in the future to stop election fraud and dirty tricks, i.e., jamming phone lines? At least on the grand scale that we have seen thus far by the Republicans.

Sharon, good one.

Watergate, Carters debate notes, October Suprise, The Ballad of Clintons Schlong, and on and on. The scum rises used to be considered a cruel irony; for them its a credo.

Well, someone is trying to secure our voting rights against these criminals. Jamming phone lines may be the least of their problems. The one thing they don't want is a trail of paper.

MoveOn members are making progress in demanding more secure voting machines. Now we have our best chance yet to guarantee paper records of every vote nationwide.

Dear MoveOn member,

Last week, scores of MoveOn members traveled thousands of miles to Washington, D.C., to urge Congress to guarantee every voting machine will keep paper records. With their help, we're closer than ever to passing crucial federal legislation. Now, our friends at Common Cause are trying to carry that momentum forward with a great new plan.

Touch-screen voting machines rely on computers to count votes, but there's no hard copy backup in case of a crash and no way to detect tampering. From North Carolina to Ohio to Texas, votes have been lost or miscounted.1

Common Cause's new plan is an exciting development, but they need to raise a lot of money to make it happen. No matter where you live, this is something you can do for election reform. Our goal is to raise $150,000 to kick off this effort.

As we work to get progressives out to vote, we also need to make sure those votes are counted accurately. For over two years, MoveOn members have been fighting for a paper record of every vote. We've won this fight in more than 25 states, and MoveOn members have pressed for H.R. 550—the gold standard for federal paper record bills—at every key moment. Together, we have made thousands of phone calls and hundreds of in-person visits to our representatives in Congress. (You can check out a list of our accomplishments below.)

As many voting experts have observed, passing H.R. 550 won't solve all our voting woes immediately. But the bill's mandatory audit of voter-verified paper records is the essential first step to expose glitches and fraud in our election system.2 H.R. 550 will make possible even more progress on election integrity.

Common Cause has crafted a massive new push for a federal law requiring a paper record of every vote. The plan targets key members of Congress who are ignoring insecure voting machines. As we approach the November election, they'll raise the profile of this issue with newspaper editorials and media coverage of new polling data showing the scope of public concern.

The plan will also get state election officials to pressure Congress directly to require paper records. And Common Cause will host nationwide house parties featuring a powerful new documentary on voting machines. MoveOn members will be involved every step of the way, starting by funding this exciting new plan.

Can you pitch in $10 to launch Common Cause's new plan for secure voting machines?

Breaking news: a campaign manager called the White House during the run up to the election!

Now, let me just put this one out there: how many other campaign managers across the country does that apply to?

Ooops. Sorry guys, you'll need actual evidence that the White House played a role in the phone-jamming scandal instead of pretending that there is something strange about a campaign manager calling the White House around an election.

When you do, it will be a scandal. Until then, it's just the same old gravy train of lies you usually have.

Posted by Seixon at April 11, 2006 04:00 AM

Judith, the simple fact that the 'pukes don't want a paper trail proves they're hoping to steal another election, and their minions agree because they don't care about democracy. They think they'll be the ones in power! Idiots.

And really, the masses don't understand the details of the phone scandal, but they don't need to. It doesn't even need to be proven anymore. The headline that yet another scandal originated in the white house adds to the growing perception that this admin is a bunch of crooks. And I haven't met anyone for months who thinks the 'pukes aren't crooks anymore. Heh.

One has to wonder about people when the appearance of malfeasance by the activities of one party generates expensive investigations that lead nowhere, but then, when the hat is on the other head, such things are easily dismissed. Simple acts for simplton minds? It can't be that easy, for the distinction of determining how to act when requires more brain power than that. Therefore, such activities demonstrate intent on the part of those who defend evil after attacking it.

They have nowhere to hide.

he made 115 outgoing calls — mostly to the same number in the White House political affairs office — between Sept. 17 and Nov. 22, 2002. Two dozen of the calls were made from 9:28 a.m. the day before the election through 2:17 a.m. the night after the voting.

115 calls to the white house in 5 days, huh? SOP.

Posted by benjoya at April 11, 2006 06:51 AM

Why Benjoya, Seixon seems to believe that 115 calls by a campagin manager to the WH in five days and 24 of those calls being in a seventeen hour period, is just business as usual. Gee, I wonder what was so important that 115 calls were made? I know, they were planning a surprise party for Jeff Gannon, don't ya think?

Listen to what Seixon has to say; he has no stake in this: he's moderate and progressive.

You've got no credibility Seixon. And the Bend Over for Grover bumperstickers in the mail.

Posted by jondee at April 11, 2006 03:16 PM

LOL. Are you guys illiterate? 115 calls in 5 days? Let's have a look one more time, shall we?

"he made 115 outgoing calls — mostly to the same number in the White House political affairs office — between Sept. 17 and Nov. 22, 2002."

5 days? Try 66.

jondee,

"Listen to what Seixon has to say; he has no stake in this: he's moderate and progressive."

How can you be moderate AND progressive? I'm a moderate, genius.

"ben - He dosnt really believe it. If he does, he's just plain stupid on top of being an effing lier. One of Gordons little punks."

Yeah, I'm the dumb retard who thinks there's 66 days between Sep. 17 and Nov. 22, while you guys, the geniuses, think it's 5 days.

"You've got no credibility Seixon. And the Bend Over for Grover bumperstickers in the mail."

I've got no credibility? I'm the only one on here that understands the difference between the number 5 and the number 66. None of you have even figured that out yet.

Once you figure that out, when you learn to read English, then you'll see that I'm the only one on here that is right.

115 calls in 66 days is an average of 1.7 calls per day, hardly breathtaking.

Let me know what address to send the canned crow to. Hope it tastes delicious.
