Comments: Rummy Says His Critics Are Manipulated By Zarqawi

rummy, even though he was of age, waited until the korean war was over before he enlisted.

Somewhere in Iraq, a solider is listening to Rummy's statement saying: "Well that explains alot"

James Garner, that "superficial Hollywood type" received 2 Purple Hearts in Korea, while Rumsfeld was waiting for the fighting to stop.

His lifelong shrapnel injuries caused him alot of pain while doing stunts on "Rockford Files", and other projects.

It's the same "boogy man" over there influencing the regular Joe over here. The opposition to administration policy is always the Boogy Man's fault. Real Americans wouldn't object.

Yeah, right!

my take on this is " only those who have seen war zones should be the ones to run the war room"

From the Generals who I have heard speak they have made it very clear that they voiced their objections while active; they then had a choice, resign immediately or salute.

They felt that they could do more while on the inside at the time. Once they realized just how fucking nuts these civilian "leaders" are, they made the choice to resign so that they could speak out.

These Generals resigned, gave up their military careers, to attempt to stop the insanity.

This is unprecedented. Never before has this happened.

This fact alone ought to make people take notice and be incredibly alarmed.

Your comments make it sound like these generals are only acting out of self-interest. It isn't like they are given all of these wonderful war toys just so they can play. There have been comments made by the generals concerning the destruction of the military as a viable entity, something that they would be concerned about just as any leader would be of that which was once led.

Once retired, these generals would have given up most of the perqs outside of a few courtesies. They may have now given these up considering their comments.

You might want to rethink your position.

funny how today's 'whistleblower' generals, resemble a.) yesterday's 'activist judges' meme or b.) a classic Swiftboating.

I also find it humorous to be reminded that 'we' should 'beware of false alliances' by somebody who's in up to their neck in the unholy neocon/Republican/fundie alliance.

Maybe it'd be a good idea to make a list of the things that Rummy's done right--here's mine:

1. ....
2. ...

sorry, 'makes Midge Decters' heart flutter' doesn't count.

It is also a slur for Rummy to suggest that the source of the discontent is resistance to "change" arising from his transformation efforts. What a sleazy, dishonest, little man.

well it still amazes me that anyone who has seen active service could support this current set of arrogant posers, men who never saw a battle, never fired a gun in their own defense -- except for Cheney, of course; those quail do get pretty bloodthirsty in Texas...
