Have you all seen how many State Legislatures and City Councils and Organizations have passed impeachment Resolutions?

It is amazing to me...no one except Newt and his crew wanted Clinton impeached; that was on the news cycle 24/7. Clinton's approval rating was what 67% during this.

Yet news media covers none of this.

Amazes me.

Just another Bush Admin Crony under investigation.

Surprise, surprise, surprise.

I'm hoping the November midterms arrive soon.

Impeachment fever is in the air and I can hardly contain myself.

Gas prices. I haven't seen any MSM discussion on the impact the fallen value of the US$ has had on our ability to purchase foreign oil and I noticed that Canada has seen half the cost rise that US has had in last year.
And, sorry to be ignorant, but do we use US refined oil in Iraq/Afghanistan which has to come across the pond twice to be used or do we buy refined in Middle East? And so, are we paying the refining prices here at the pump to subsidize the oil used in the war/military action?
AND, with the Govt making a heap on the gas tax, if the GOP Congress can't seem to hold oil companies accountable, why can't that Govt tax go toward a Manhattan Project for alternative fuel? I know, I know, we got bridges to build in Alaska.

Talk not of impeachment. When the "Great Decider" decides decisively, the decision has been decided, and the rest of us are decidely up "Poop Creek" without a paddle. And, there ain't a dang thing we can do about it.

Forget about Flight 93. Our whole country has been hijacked by extremists, and all we can do is hope we can survive them until 2008. But, even then I have my doubts that the American people will turn them out. All they have to do is "Swift Boat" the whole damn country. Works every time.

Couple of quick things on my mind

-Gas prices...not only on the consumer, but what is this all doing to the American War Machine costs? How does that affect the supply/demand/costs of everything. All those Humvees, jeeps, and Aircraft/helicopters certainly don't run by themselves...and how much oil/gas is being consumed by the American War Machine to maintain this presence in Iraq/Afghanistan? Don't hear much talk about that large piece of the oil issue.

-Stephen Colbert at the WH Correspondence Dinner. It was without a doubt Must see TV! It was everything I always wanted to say to Bushco (including the corporate media) but would never have the opportunity or bully pulpit to do it. Thank you Mr. Colbert! (Editor and Publisher have an excellent write up about it and C&L has the video...you won't find anything about it in the MSM outlets, essentially proving Colbert's point made about them).

emal, I especially liked this quote:

Addressing the reporters, he said, "Let's review the rules. Here's how it works. The president makes decisions, he’s the decider. The press secretary announces those decisions, and you people of the press type those decisions down. Make, announce, type. Put them through a spell check and go home. Get to know your family again. Make love to your wife. Write that novel you got kicking around in your head. You know, the one about the intrepid Washington reporter with the courage to stand up to the administration. You know--fiction."

I've been watching TV news this week for the first time in a month or more. It's been a bit of a shock, guess I forgot what it's like. I don't know if I've been more disturbed by what's reported or what's not reported. I started watching on the day Rove went to court and Snow was selected. Though those stories ran throughout the day they had no substance and were never really extended. Had mainstream media been my only news source I would have been left knowing the two facts above without understanding how those events impact my life. Though there was clamor throughout the day about gas prices, mostly blamed on consumer demands, I heard nothing about developing alternative sources. I did hear that the high prices were necessary so the oil producers could reinvest the profits to meet our demands. Again, nothing was offered that would relieve the demands on the consumer. Maybe that's a contributing factor to the cynicism today. People have no warning from the sources on which they depend of impending disaster until it occurs . They aren't warned about the potential harm that policies and decisions could cause their families. They feel no control and it appears to them that no one else does either.

This net neutrality battle gives me nightmares. But this topic has not made the mainstream media yet. Access to information and technology is a factor that increases the divide between socio-economic classes. The potential educational impact could be devestating, gloom and doom for everyone.

Why isn't net neutrality in the news? I am absolutely nobody special, have been in near isolation for a month, but have known about this for three weeks. I first learned about it from an individual in state gov. that an ISP deregulation bill had died in committee but the supporters were gearing up for a comeback. Early in the week I got an email warning outlining the issue. I did a brief search last night and didn't find the topic carried in any print news.

Sorry I got so lon-winded.

Oops, that's long-winded.

One more thing: Is Nancy Grace for real or is the show a spoof? Weird!
