Mission Accomplished Day

US troops killed in Iraq as of 5/1/2003 - 139.

US troops killed in Iraq as of 5/1/2006 - 2400.

Offered without snark.

Snark, I believe the correct phrase is now "Misery Accomplished."

The 'mission' being perpetual war, death, horror, debt, deciet and a never-ending reason to 'save us from the terrorists' by destroying our personal rights and freedoms. Yes, I would say 'Mission Accomplished'.

Snark. Don't forget the 4000 Iraqis killed since the first of the year, nor the 214 coalition deaths since the beginning of the conflict. The only thing that brings me solace is that these are not permanent deaths. Just enduring.

Oops. Forgot the 400 mercenaries...uhhh, private contractors...killed since the start of the conflict.

And reading Condi's comments from yesterday on liberaloasis about Iran, it seems talk of Iraq is old news, nothing to be learned, let's focus on the shiny new toy called "bombing Iran." That bitch.

Completely changing the subject because I want to look on the bright side today (actually I am looking to the Dark Side of the Moon and it makes me feel good.)

Maybe we can sell some shit on Craig's List so that we can afford tickets.

Is it just me, or do you think that when some philiosophical/spiritual teacher implored us to 'Love your enemies' that maybe he meant, don't kill them?

He also said "love your neighbor" so, putting the two teachings together, that just about seems to cover everyone, doesn't it?

But, of course the fake Christians in the White Out House, Kinda-Sleazy Lice-brain and her murderous co-conspiritors, are just waiting for the next batch of dead bodies to start streaming home. Bodies that, of course, normal Americans will never see, lest they/we actually start to understand the depth of THE ADMINISTRATIONS TERROR upon our once proud and great nation. Keep counting your money and collecting power, you God-forsaken pigs! Karma can't come too soon.

Predictions on the political effect of today's "day without immigrants" demonstrations?

Catalyst to smashing November victory or 2006 equivalent of the 2004 Massachusetts gay marriage ruling? I have to say I can't read it.

Is KKKarl worried or happy this May Day? (indictment concerns excepted).
