George W. Bush: a failed student, a failed husband, a failed father, a failed business man, a failed governor and a failed president.

Just jump off the roof of the WH and get it over with, would ya?

Failed governor, failed congressional candidate, failed alchohol consumer, failed pet owner.(ask Barney for particulars)

This talk of partitioning fails to take into account the impact of those who happen to be in the minority in each partition.

What of the fortunes of the Sunnis living in the Shiite partition and vice versa?

Are we to see a repeat of the Indo-Pakistani partition heartbreak?

The root of this problem is that IraNq was never a "real" or "natural" nation; it was a British post-colonial construction.

Let me see. How Busch and the neo-cons plan to partition Iraq. Northern oil fields: U.S.S.A. control. The other two partitions: Who really gives a fuck.

I am so sick of US politions coming out with these idiotic "solutions".
In the first place, Congress voted to get us into this nightmare.
Iraq does not divide into 3 groups.
Biden and Gelb are ignorant.
They no more understand Iraq than a 2 year old understands quantum physics.
The Iraqis have survived dictatorship, the Iran Iraq War, the Gulf War, the inhuman sanctions and bombing raids of the CLinton Admistration and now this US war on Iraq.
Iraq would do better if the US would stop trying to influence events there.
I am sorry to be so harsh, but I've had it with both Republicans and Democrats making fools out of themselves.

Maude, don't hold back. Tell how you really feel.

Yey!!!! I'm so glad that the war has been over for 3 years now. Whew!! We sure dodged a bullet on that one (That's sarcasm by the way).

God Of War has it right, Iraq was a figment of the Brit's imagination, like their Royalty, which doesn't work either.

How many citizens of Iraq died in the last 3 years of Saddam, compared to the last 3 years of Yankee King George? Did Sadaam have 100,000 refugees living in tents, because they feared being killed in their own previously peaceful neighborhoods?

Posted by TIKI AL at May 1, 2006 02:06 PM

ahhh... and it seemed like such a good idea (apparently) to give Saddam all those weapons in the early eighties to fight Iran.

Geesh, somebody or something has put the US in timeout. Bush, pu-leeze slap on some sanctions, call Iran contained and get your comic double to speak how you stopped a nu-cle-ar catastrophy

The partition plan is crap, just more US politicians staking out a quickie position without thinking it through. Iraq does not divide neatly into 3 groups.

The tripartite scheme ignore Turkmen, Chaldaeans and Assyrians, Yazidis and a dozen others. Most crucially it ignores the huge numbers of people who liv outside their 'natural' province. The only way to make partition work would be a population exchange effecting millions and that would still leave the Sunni statelet as an island of poverty and unrest without oil revenues or the ability to defend itself al-Qa'ida.

What interests, in Iraq as opposed to US politics, does partition serve?

The only virtue of the Biden plan is that it allows Biden to proclaim 'Misiion Accomplished' at some electorally convenient tme.

There is only one plan. Get our collective asses out of Iraq, forget about Iran, and try to put what was once America back together.
