Before it sadly disappears into the numberless electrons of the internet, make sure you all enjoy phidipides bravura smackdown of our resident reactionary Bagley in the May 1st thread relating to Plame and Iran.
A classic.
And Professor Cole today declares "thus far and no farther", calling for student protests to begin against Bushco's latest manufactured crisis---war against Iran. A must.
Posted by euzoius at May 3, 2006 07:40 AMeuzoius, that was a classic, that's for sure. Both p-dippy and idiosynchronic have been on a roll this week. Sure glad they're on the side of the angels! (that's us, in case you didn't know, wink wink)
Posted by iamcoyote at May 3, 2006 08:00 AMThanks, euozius. My best line nomination is for:
"...they go down faster than JD Guckert at an RNC fund raiser." Props!
My thoughts are straying to the end of the M3 report and the 2 Trillion in extra greenbacks dumped into the economy since that time. The Fed will no longer report how much money they print (too expensive to collect the data. And I thought all of those printing presses had counters on them. Silly me). Add faux dollars to the massive debt, and it's a mixture that leads to financial disaster.
At least with the M3 data gone the Feds don't have to work to explain why inflation is not actually closer to the 9% it actually is. It'll make the lies about 3% or 4% easier to rationalize. Nothing like hedonic regression to tell you that a 10% increase in the cost of a can of soup is offset by the 6% satisfaction you get from eating it.
I'm looking forward to the 30% loss in purchasing power of my dollars, just like the good old days of that fuck-stick Reagan. Let me see, women had to hit the job market in droves since it took two earners to make it after Reagan. Maybe these families can whore one of their kids at a donkey show in Tijuana after this next round of devaluation. Thank God for a mindless drone as president. That's what happens when American Universities give "gentlemans Cs" to a worthless fucking student who is also a worthless fucking human being.
Posted by phidipides at May 3, 2006 08:16 AMStop trying to cheer us all up phidipides! I can't take it much longer.
Posted by iamcoyote at May 3, 2006 08:46 AMI was in NYC last weekend and saw "Stuff Happens" at the Public Theatre. A fascinating account of the Bush administration and the march to war in Iraq. I highly recommend it to any NY readers. Also, the guy who plays Cheney is just spot on evil.
Posted by ann at May 3, 2006 10:17 AMMoussaoui has been sentenced to life without parole: how long before some leftist judge decides that his rights were violated and orders a new trial?
Moussaoui should have been put up against a wall and shot shortly after he was captured.
Posted by Bagley at May 3, 2006 07:24 PMMoussaoui should have been put up against a wall and shot shortly after he was captured.
When, as individuals, we get to be judge, jury and executioner, I'm pronouncing my judgement on you. You are assuredly more dangerous to America and American ideals than Moussaui ever was.
