Let's be more truthful - these aren't downloads, but streaming audio of the Young album. Good quality streams, but you still need a fast internet connection to hear the music at a decent quality.

If I was sneaky bastard, I'd get my copy of Total Recorder out and record the stream playback.

Well, get on it, then, idio, I just posted the links! Thanks for the reminder OTF.

I wonder how long it will take before Neil is invited to Gitmo....

Ugh, I spent too much time watching 9/11 documentaries from Google Video...*whew* I shudder to think the trouble we're in if half of that stuff is true...on the same conspiracy theory slant, what if the government's lack of preparation for a pandemic is another step toward securing the police state? *sigh*

I just came back from a week in a gated and security guarded community. As I sat outside at the Golf Club smoking a cig, frowned upon by all who passed, I realized why many of these people are afraid. The "haves" live in a perfect world. They step into their perfect Mercedes and drive to their perfect Golf Club, for a perfect lunch in their perfect clothes. Once a week, the grounds keepers come (all are Mexicans) to keep the lawns and flowers perfect, and the housekeepers come to see that the house is perfect inside. Their only chore is to make sure everything stays perfect in their world. The thought occurred to me that there is no room for living, life or embracing anything outside of their gated community. Everthing is controlled to ensure their perfect existence. While I realize this is not some new revelation, it once again proves that the 1% are incapable of ever understanding the rest of us, and in most cases, do not care to understand. Their biggest fear is someone outside of their perfect worlds, as illustrated by some posters here on TLC. No wonder they vote Republican.

"what if the government's lack of preparation for a pandemic is another step toward securing the police state?"

Roy, that same thought has occurred to me. My biggest fear is this very sick and insane pResident has two and a half years to further destroy us all.

"what if the government's lack of preparation for a pandemic is another step toward securing the police state?"

Sure it's a concern. The bright spot is that this administation has never attempted anything that it hasn't completely fucked up. That may be the only thing that saves us.

Bush Advises Graduates on Technology
By DEB RIECHMANN

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - President Bush advised college graduates on Saturday to use technology but not become enslaved by it.

``Science offers the prospect of eventual cures for terrible diseases - and temptations to manipulate life and violate human dignity,'' Bush said during commencement exercises at Oklahoma State University. ``With the Internet, you can communicate instantly with someone halfway across the world - and isolate yourself from your family and your neighbors.''

Do you believe this??!! Bush commenting on technology?!? And decrying science at the same time. I need a valium...

and temptations to manipulate life and violate human dignity,''

Pot, meet kettle.

"what if the government's lack of preparation for a pandemic is another step toward securing the police state?"

For preparations sake I've made a couple of attempts to get a "just in case" prescription of Tamaflu from my Dr. Each time he looks at me very skeptically like I've asked something so ridiculous that I must me joking. I can see his head gear turning while he tries to assess my mental condition. The first time I tried to explain my cause for concern. He answered by becoming very patronizing, pooh-poohed my concerns, and assured me I have nothing to worry about.

I'm pissed that I'm worried about a threat that hasn't even mutated into the form it must take to reach the worst case scenerio that is being touted.

But who can blame us for our concerns and wild speculations of conspiracy after what we've witnessed?

During Katrina the explanation that made the most sense for the Govnmt's failure to act was that the failure was intentional and that those left behind in N.O. were considered disposable, not worth saving, and good riddance. Worse, it seemed that those responsible were surprised when many of us who were watching didn't agree with them (remember-many did agree and openly voiced the opinion that the victims deserved what they got).

Most of us are aware that our country has supported or failed to intervene to stop genocide because it welcomed a means to decrease the population of those considered inferior.

When we are inundated with reports that there will not be enough medication for the masses in the case of a bird flu pandemic what do "they" expect us to think . Knowing recent and past history, wouldn't we be stupid to assume that the existing doses of meds will be directed towards those in the general population as they fall ill and fairly distributed until the supplies are exhausted? The smarter assumption and most logical is to expect that a list of names of lucky people exists who are targeted for survival and the rest of us (or the list I'm on anyway) will be left to our own resources, disposable people of no consequence.

Judith: "no room for living, life or embracing anything outside of their gated community", sounds like our 2 Bengal housecats.

Neil Young has said if he catches anyone downloading his songs, he will "kick their ass".

Watched "Let's Get Frank" on direct tv, a documentary on Barny Frank and the Clinton impeachment, and got pissed off at the republicans all over again.

How about Barr and Hyde having a mistress each?
Monica, Bill, and hate filled repubs have screwed up the entire world.
