You bet it's a deadly course. After I got that clinical degree and entered practice, I came back to teaching because it was much more fulfilling (and being empathetic, it was difficult to let a person's problems go at the end of the day). I flunked about 50% of my students. They always seemed to do much better the next time around. You know those whacky University Freshmen! My students always had really high scores in my personality, social psych, developmental and abnormal psych classes. No grade inflation, I'm just damned good. I always wanted to teach animal behavior, but never had the opportunity.
