FDR is a tough, near-head-exploder for the right because he lead America through "the greatest war" (and they do love their wars) while on the otherhand pushing through the kind of domestic programs that savants like Rush and Sean tell their entralled listeners are "competely socialistic" and seem to want completely done away with, never to be repeated, at the nearest oppurtunity. But, you have to go pretty far out to beat the torturous attempts by wingnut true believers to compare Bush to FDR (and Lincoln!) during the last election run-up. One of their strengths (which balances out their uniform stupidity), is their almost uniform shamelessness.

These men inspired the citizenry. They allowed us to see ourselves as part of something greater. They knew their time in power was limited and they had to use that power in a meaningful way.
The Bushites aren't about any of this.

Comparing FDR to Busch is like comparing steak to potted meat food. FDR was a son of privilege and wealth who had a well developed conscience and a sense of social justice. Busch is a son of privilege who used that privilege to connive and cheat his way through every aspect of his life. How do you compare the two? You can't. You can only note FDR's greatness and Busch's deplorable incompetence.
