Well well, isn't this interesting. Little Georgie even tells his Daddy to take a flying fuck. Daddy must be so proud of his son.

George Bush Sr. asked retired general to replace Rumsfeld

The former president's secret campaign to oust the secretary of defense was rebuffed by President Bush, a source says.

Former President George H.W. Bush waged a secret campaign over several months early this year to remove Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld. The elder Bush went so far as to recruit Rumsfeld's potential replacement, personally asking a retired four-star general if he would accept the position, a reliable source close to the general told me. But the former president's effort failed, apparently rebuffed by the current president.

Must be sad to see your family legacy go up in smoke. This is what happens when you spent your life bailing out a no good rotten son.

"Damn it, daddy, I'm the decider! Not you! You and mom never let me do anything my own way. It's my country and I'll play with it like I want to. You're always telling me what to do, and bringing up things I did in the past. I can do this, but you never ever give me a chance. Just leave me alone. You don't understand! You just wait and see how good I do. I hate you, I hate you, I hate you! Just go away (door slams shut)!"

I bet Busch I gets a daily briefing from his SS security officer. I also bet if you took out all the moles that old fart has in the WH you couldn't even get the laundry ironed.

I'm no explosive expert, so maybe somebody can chime in on this question: If you drop two 500 lb. high explosive bombs on a small concrete block house, wouldn't it pretty much blow the hell out of everything inside and out? Would the bodies of the inhabitants be intact and identifiable? Or reduced to tiny pieces of flesh and bone?

T2, exactly. This morning's reports out of the Pentagon are now saying that Mr. Zippy was still alive when found in the rubble, said something unintelligible and even tried to get up from the stretcher, then croaked. I get this mental image of the way cartoon characters die in the cartoons of old - legs stick straight up then flatten out. El estiro la pata, as we say in Espanol. I'm going to withhold any celebration (if such is even appropriate) about this "success" in Iraq. Recall how the numbers are always adjusted downward a month or two down the road. (:>

@T2...

Depends on how the bombs were set to detonate. A High Explosive (HE) with a fuse designed to airburst would have blown up above the building sending the concussive force down onto the roof along with really really fast moving bits of metal. If the bomb had a timer on the fuse the bomb would have (if dropped directly into the building) imbedded itself into the first floor or basement and then exploded. The concussive shockwave would be increased due to the earch reflecting the wave back up into the building. As far as what shape the fatalities would be in, thats kind of a random thing. Some bodies near to the explosion with no walls between themselves and the blast would be pretty mangled, but not neccessarily blasted to small meaty chunks. Anybody that was really close to the blast but on the other side of a wall would probably be killed or injured more from debris flying through the air, structural collapse, and the concussion mangling organ internally without much more than bruising on the outside.

Maybe somebody from EOD or an Airforce munitions handler could trouble shoot this post with more authority than this Combat Engineer.

Ah, Texas were the "good guv'ment" keeps getten' gooder and gooder.

Note that the Bermuda based company involved had also been hired to purge Florida voter lists before the 2000 election.

Net Neutrality amendment defeated, COPE (HR5252) passed

Vote of 321-101 passed COPE, while 269-152 defeated the Net Neutrality amendment.

Fred Upton says 'people' can save $30-40 on their Internet access every month! Why? Because, he says, COPE inspires competition, which is good for everybody.

I don't know about any of you 'people' but I don't know any 'people' who even spend $30-40 on Internet access every month, ergo, how can you save more than you actually spend?

Still time to contact our Senators, though, who are set to vote on COPE in late Juneso... let's get busy, people! :-)

Jolly Sapper - photos of the bombsite are in the paper....showing a totally destroyed dwelling with twisted rebar, etc. And movies of the actual impact of the bombs are on TV. It appears to have been blown to bits. I doubt little shacks in the middle of nowhere in Iraq have very thorough code inspections- pretty much just "build with what you got", so not much structural protection. Of course, that assumes that the footage and photos are of the real Zarqawi attact, not just some file photos of some other bombing. I"m sure BushCo wouldn't fake this stuff for political reasons.

"COPE inspires competition, which is good for everybody."

Richard, yeah right.

T2, that was my question a couple of comments sections earlier. Precision laser bombing, 500 lbs, and he manages to live awhile. Something doesn't make my rationale mind comfortable.
