Comments: "Where Did She Go? Why Did She Leave?"

Well said.

calvin believes that being a pessimist carries with it some unique advantages. The chief advantage seems to be never being disappointed. Set the bar low enough and anything above the bar is a plus. Bushco has us conditioned. The onslaught is so broad and so deep that we have all become inured. And, that's part of the strategy. As soon as someone points out one zit, several more appear in different places. Pretty soon, even Jessica Simpson and her acne meds can't cure the problem.

calvin wonders where we would be without the internet. All of us would be blissfully unaware. But, thanks to Pessimist, et al, we know. Or, is it no thanks? Because now there is no excuse not to act.

calvin would prefer to sit in the summer sun, lick, nap and upchuck a few hairballs. Going out and hunting for mice, gophers, etc. is work. Hard work. Being a cat is hard work.

When the walking brain-dead non-voters find themselves naked, living in caves and dining on cockroaches, will they even notice that the outhouses are recycled voting booths?

Can there be any doubt that the days of constitutional government in the US are over? Unitary executive powers, eviscerated Bill of Rights, unauditable vote tabulation processes, unilateral invasions based on brazen falsehoods, a pay for play CONgress, sanctioned torture, and on and on....

1984 coming to fruition.

So if all this is true, then where do we go from here? Of course you realize that people like us are the enemy, and will be dealt with accordingly. How many people will Gitmo hold?

A hilarious satire of all this: "The Department of Homeland Decency: Decency Rules and Regulations Manual." It's at www.homelanddecency.com.

I suppose the special legal logic of an abominable decision like Roe v. Wade does not apply.

Well said, pessimist. This analysis resonates so powerfully with me that I have nothing to add.

Instead, I'm just going to share this URL with everyone I know. Why, exactly, I'm not sure because I have so little confidence that even if a significant majority of the population suddenly 'got it,' would it make any difference at all in the way of being in this nation?

As I understand it, the notions of revolt and overthrow are now illegal so, even if we were to experience a massive enlightenment and some miraculous infusion of courage into the newly enlightened masses to take such revolutionary actions, would we not all be imprisoned or shot as traitors?

Oh, the irony!?! Traitors of a government gone bad... isn't it ironic? Don't ya' think? :-)

Please see Greenwald's correction; it seems that Pincus misreported.
