Comments: A Couple of Key Messages from YearlyKos

Thank you Lt. Ehren Watada. You are a man of conscience. You spoke your conscience when many around you tried to place a gag on your thoughts.

What if they threw a war, and nobody came?

Do those who join after seeing how illegal this war is become accessories after the fact?

I know that you guys as well as the other Liberal/Progressive blogs are proud of your involvement in these "blog summits", but please don't allow yourselves to go soft on these people simply because they gave you the time of Day.

Both Reid and Dean haven't exactly championed many of the Progressive ideals that I regularly read here on this site. Quite the opposite, Reid has been complicit and weasely whenever any major opportunity has presented itself to stand on principle and fight Evil legislation. Worse yet, perhaps he even AGREES with Conservatives on some of it (i.e. Patriot Act, Iraq, "Gay Marriage", etc.).

If I were to meet any of these fools in person, I'd say virtually every word I write on any Progressive blog directly to their faces. I wouldn't refrain from descriptive language nor would I alter my mannerisms to avoid giving offense. The vast majority of Quasi-Elected Democrats in congress have just as much responsibility for what has happened to our government and poor people around the world as the Conservatives have. All one needs do is read what they've voted for and what they haven't voted for to decide.

"Boxer thanked the blogosphere for the roses and the welcome whenever she posts on dKos."

And this sentiment will doom the Democratic party into irrelevance.

Did you crave attention back when you were a little lunch bag?

But they fight.

Bagman
Actually as unpopular as conservatism is now we'd certainly be wise not to follow your advise. Why would Boxer want to become a 30 per center like you? Only an idiot would listen to your advice.

Ga6thDem (et al),

So, let me get this straight, the dKos crowd represents the majority of the voting public? Or is it that the dKos crowd represents the "swing vote."

Well, if this is true, then I suppose the people who post at the dKos represent the true opinions of the majority or the swing vote.

Is this correct? (Careful now children, you are wandering out into the deep end of the pool.)

Geez, yer dumb. The Kossacks represent nobody but themselves (and maybe some readers), and they vote for representatives and petition their government to represent them. You may have heard of the process--it's called "de-mo-cra-cy."

And according to every single measure of public opinion lately, conservatives have been doing a spectacularly bad job of fulfilling the nation's wishes for good democratic government. The fact that the nation is not writing in votes for Markos in the Gallup Poll hardly indicates that Bush is popular.

Reading Is Fundamental.

I guess the Libs are a welcoming bunch, unlike you clenched-anus fucktard wingnuts, eh Bagfuck?

Speaking of irrelevance, once Diebold et al are fucked up and sent to sea, you motherfuckers are toast. And if you try to pull that fraudelent shit again, you'll be smoking, charred burnt toast.

Pull that shit again, you fucking cheating anti-American scum.

djmoonbat,

" The Kossacks represent nobody but themselves (and maybe some readers)...."

Thank God for small favors: imagine if these (dKos-types) were running the country. It would be a wet dream for pessimist, but a nightmare for everyone else.

"You may have heard of the process--it's called 'de-mo-cra-cy.'"

I am quite familiar with the concept: I recall who won the last election....and the one before that (howling moonbat complaints of how the last two elections were stolen in 4...3...2...1).

But seriously, the original post concerned how the dKos crowd at this particular "convention" was indicative of the incoming tide of progressive ascendency in politics.

"Reading Is Fundamental."

But more importantly, it is necessary to understand what you are reading ;-)

God Of War,

yadda....yadda...yadda.

"Silly" is the farthest thing from the reality of the situation.

Silly Bagman
When did I mention Kos? LOL! You completely ignored my question! Can't handle the truth eh bagman? Latest Pew poll has your hero at 33%. Funny thing is (now wrap your head in duct tape because it's gonna explode little boy) the Dkossers are more mainstream than you are! LOL!

Posted by Ga6thDem at June 11, 2006 08:43 PM

Bagley: I'm not going to pull any punches. Senator Boxer's statements were the most relevant of the conference. Although I have become very passive since the war, I'll take you on any day, you stupid fuck.

If Reid and his colleagues hadn't let their inaction permit this Administration to take over our country, it wouldn't be necessary to tell the rest of us to get our country back. There is so much they could have done, and could do, to stop the coup but they did little or nothing. Now they throw up their hands and say, "It's up to you." Pitiful.

As someone somewhere once asked...Fer instance?

I wouldn't. The fuckers need it.

Oh, just great. The tard-bots of the uber-right weigh in with their thoughtful analyses.

..."You libruhls is all fascists, Sieg Heil!"...

Ignorance wrapped in stupidity, surrounding a crunchy core of Nazi and KKK beliefs and practices. You fucks are special.

'Productive/unproductive' and 'good/bad for the blogoshpere' issues aside, one of the things that I got out of YearlyKos that made the whole trip worthwhile is being able to go to many of the blogs that were represented at the gathering and read the posts 'in the voices of the posters'. There really is a lot of nuance and personality that all of these people put into their writing. And having heard many of them speak and laugh and joke and be serious allows a deeper level of that nuance to be revealed. That alone made the trip a success for me.

Posted by snark at June 12, 2006 09:49 AM

Snark, Dr. Kathleen Reardon has a great "for instance" in her blog on The Huffington Post entitled, "The Rope to Hang Themselves and Other Liberal Strategies" which she expresses much better than I can. I commented on how Markos on Meet the Press responded to Russert in the most "wonderful way by being succinct, charming, knowledgeable, and credible." It is rare for our elected Democrats to do the same and I consider this a huge problem and my "for instance." Thank you.

Another example of powerful push-back was Larry Johnson on the Plame panel at the Kos Convention telling in plain, simple English the true facts of the Plame case and thus correcting the distorted reporting most of us have heard.

Correcting the record, telling the truth, explaining the facts, pushing back are things our elected officials should have been doing these past five years but they have not. For this I will give hell to Harry and his colleagues.

Posted by Sally at June 12, 2006 10:38 AM

What could Reid & Co. do to prevent our country being run into the ground? Oh, I don't know. Maybe voting against a piece of Constitution-destroying Fascist garbage being forced down the throats of the American people at the behest of the military and Corporations. Pick a bill. Bankruptcy Bill. Patriot Act. COPE. Iraq War resolution. Clean Air Act. "No Child Left Behind".

Democrats. Voting for these bills. Whimpering and whining --- and then voting FOR these bills.

Really, if any "Democrat" still cannot reconcile these facts in that plain language, I submit that they are too stupid to count themselves civic-minded and would ask that they do Progressives everywhere a favor and STFU. Our case is stronger without them.
