Comments: For The Birds

I am an ex-Air Force Captain, and what I have read not only violates all of our honor code, but all of the civil laws I can think of. It is an absolute disgrace to the uniform. I'm sorry to use the term, but they are fuckers, and that is it.

I truly think it has something to do with the Colo Springs locale, a hotbed of the most creepshow religious right creepiness ever.

God, is there any end to the sickness of this nation?

I seriously doubt it.

Birds do it,
Bees do it,
Even pilots 'bove the trees do it-

Colonel Maria Carl recites the familiar verse about the military taking these things seriously, meaning any sex scandal will require serious cover-up by the military.

Support the troops. How about pledges of fidelity and /or virginity like with teenagers? I think that would work. Just say no?

Damn it, TIKI. Please post a coffee spew warning with this stuff. Head them with "CSW" or some such. I've got more Starbucks in this machine than it can handle, thanks in large part to you.

I don't know if you've seen them in your locales, but here there is a huge commercial campaign to have parents take the abstinence pledge along with teenagers. All sex is bad -including that nasty heterosexual stuff you people do- 24/7. Where is the antiheterosexual-sex marriage ammendment when we need it? I knew you heteros were pervs.

The new U.S.S.A! Better and improved.

In my community there is a young woman who has gone AWOL from the Army just before she was due to leave for her second tour in Iraq. She couldn't take the sexual harrassment. She says all enlisted women are expected to put out for their superiors. If they don't, they face brutal harrassment. She had been in real hiding for several months and then just "hiding" in her parents' home. I just heard via my email list that she'd been arrested. She's got an attorney and the Army knows of her charges. This could get interesting.
