Sensenbrenner isn't going far enough. NSA isn't getting info directly from the telecoms, they're going through third parties so that the telecoms can honestly say they haven't given private information to the NSA without a warrant. NSA setting up offices in telecoms? That's the NSA getting the information directly, not the telecoms handing it over.

Posted by bartcopfan at June 21, 2006 12:45 PMI was going to throw in a congratulations to Sensenbrenner but then I paused for a quick read of Bob Geiger's piece over at TruthOut about how TO A ONE, the Repub's last week voted against Dorgin's Amendment to introduce accountability into the contracts/contractors in Iraq. The article, like most of Bob's is so well done it is simply mind boggling from any perspective that any American could not vote in favor of accountability. So as much as I'd like to see Sensenbrenner's ethical muscle flexed, it won't happen.
