Hell of a post! I'm waiting for McCain or Hil to use the old McClosky quote from '68 "I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant"
Posted by mainsailset at June 25, 2006 12:19 PMNeed to read the post still, but, I am watching the Fox News Show and Jamie something-or-other is showing a little heinie by crossing her legs in a short skirt.
I'm feelin' that lovin' - but not much else.
I wonder if they do it on purpose - to give JimBo, Tiny, and Bubba their ONE reason to watch the news...
They just said "Clamoring Democrats" and "Democratic cloudburst of whining" in the same sentance... Unbelievable.
I wonder if KKKarl had the troop withdrawal leaked..
Posted by Congress - paid to bend U over at June 25, 2006 01:28 PMDubya doesn't like sailers. He only likes special forces guys with bald heads.
And 10 inches, uncut.
This is true. Would I kid you?
Posted by Libby Sosume at June 25, 2006 06:16 PMOh yeah, Ronald Reagan, deficit hawk.
Keep that Reactionary Revisionism comin', Johnny Mc-C!!
Posted by euzoius at June 25, 2006 06:42 PM"When walls were all I had for a world, I learned about a man whose courage and love gave me hope in a desolate place. His faith honored us."
WTF? Is he talking about Reagan inspiring him as a POW?
McCain was released long before Reagan ran unsuccessfully against Ford in 76 and became a national figure. Why would a Arizona POW in North Vietnam be massively inspired that the governor of California, among dozens of other governors and hundreds of other politicians, supported the Vietnam War?
And WTF is it with Rethugs and their 'Reagan made the country feel good again' obsession? They really are longing for a big daddy fantasy-figure to tell them pretty lies while recklessly running up massive deficits they can leave to someone else to pay off. For all their bitching about Hollywood, it's Rethugs who elect the empty-headed fantasist pitchmen like Reagan and Schwarzenegger. These religion-addled tools are looking for a charismatic snake-handling preacher, an authoritarian in whom they can blissfully, blindly trust to recreate a childlike state. Not a capable administrator of government that we actually need. And this somehow makes them the 'grown-ups'??.
You know, there was a time when I thought I could live with McCain. And then the moment passed.
Posted by Diane S. at June 25, 2006 09:44 PMMcCain seems not to have noticed that Reagan was a moron. What is it with moron worship in the Republican party?
Posted by Repack Rider at June 25, 2006 09:58 PM"McCain seems not to have noticed that Reagan was a moron. What is it with moron worship in the Republican party?"
Repack Rider, the legacy of little Ronnie has been totally rewritten in the minds of the Republicans. Talk about creating your own reality in the face of facts that your hero was an moron. But hey, Ronnie owned a ranch, could ride a horse and had been a movie star. What more could one have asked for? Oh, and by-the-way, like Bush he was an accomplished liar.
Posted by Judith at June 26, 2006 01:29 AMMcCain insults every American whether they realize it or not.
Posted by Judith at June 26, 2006 01:34 AMIn his remarks, he called himself a Reagan disciple
Wasn't it Reagan who asked what posterity had ever done for him?
Posted by bob h at June 26, 2006 04:50 AMCould YOU love a Republican?
Nope. Never, no exceptions here.
I've told Jim (my partner of 14 years) that I can tolerate and work thru just about anything, but were he to come home and announce he's morphed into a Republican, then call the attorneys because this relationship is done.
Posted by Christopher at June 26, 2006 04:56 AMI could maybe love a Republican, but I couldn't live with one. On second thought, my Brother is a Bush lover and we haven't spoken in a year. No love lost there.
Posted by Judith at June 26, 2006 07:03 AMmc cain admires reagan cause he made the presidency attainable for divorcees. unless you're a democrat, of course
