As long as SUV's are tootling along, all is right with the world. I'd love to subscribe to the New York Times, but I'm scared BushNazis will appear at my door with a warrant to search the homestead and seize my computers and bank books. I'd love to go to the protest in front of the Ghandi center in DC this weekend, but I'm not risking it for shit!
Man how I once cursed Hitler's forces, and the Germans who allowed the Holocaust to happen in their midst, standing by and doing nothing (as the world percieved it then).
What does this 4th of July mean, actually? Not a GODDAMNED thing! Fly Old Glory upside down, y'all!
Posted by Mal Feasance at July 1, 2006 02:00 PMA creeping police state????? should this come as a surprise. geez, wake up folks, its not creeping, its being introduced into congress as we speak.
Posted by T2 at July 1, 2006 03:18 PMSure, put all California Iranians on a watchlist, and after that, put anyone you don't like on the list. Then, when the time is right, ship them out to some prison in the middle of nowhere and gas them. Bush does Hitler proud.
I agree with Mal, fly the fucking flag upside down until this pig is out of office.
Posted by Judith at July 1, 2006 03:43 PMI wonder how many of our names have been put on a watchlist. I have sent hundreds of letters and signed many many petitions against this Administration. You think my name is on a file in some dark dingy office? The next protest I will be wearing a Bush mask.

And this is a bad thing?
I so much enjoy watching the hysteria of Leftists. The only thing more enjoyable is reading the posts where they (Leftists) actually think that their positions reflect the majority of the United States population. (Sorry boys and girls: polls that reflect disapproval for the President do not automatically translate into approval for the opinions expressed here on TLC by the likes of pessimist, Mary, et al.)
Posted by Bagley at July 1, 2006 03:58 PMBagley, what part of the rule of law do you not understand?
State law makes it a felony to eavesdrop on conversations between a person in custody and his attorney, doctor or religious advisor.
You want to eavesdrop, make it legal. Sneaky, secret and illegal actions are ultimately destructive to our form government. Gees, it's amazing how many people who are supposedly "moral" don't have any problems with breaking the law.
Posted by Mary at July 1, 2006 04:43 PM"...then why has Bush let over a hundred of them go Benito? Please answer that question. Your response, I am sure, will be quite interesting."
Bagley responds with "Politics."
Bagley, but you and Benito have already decided that these people are guilty and deserve to linger, without trials, at Gitmo. So what you are saying is that Bush, YOUR pResident, has let over a hundred terrorists go because of "politics?" You support terrorists being let go for political reasons? Fucking amazing Bagley.
Posted by Judith at July 1, 2006 07:55 PMWhat say you, Bagley? Do you like your pretzledent buddy letting go these people who are so obviously, in your eyes, terrorists?
Posted by phidipides at July 1, 2006 08:40 PMPhidipides, I just don't understand a pResident letting terrorists go, especially with this "War on Terra." Doesn't Bush know that those terrorists he let go from Gitmo are going to come back and kill us? If I was Bagley, I would be madder than hell that my pResident let terrorists walk out of Gitmo.
Posted by Judith at July 2, 2006 01:16 AM19 terrorists stripped us of our civil rights.
After the 100 that Bush let go strike us, will we be working in salt mines?
Posted by TIKI AL at July 2, 2006 02:39 AM"19 terrorists stripped us of our civil rights."
TIKI AL, that statement startled me. I never thought of it in those terms.
Has anyone else noticed that when presenting a question to a troll, repeatedly, they disappear for a while. Several times I have requested someone to back up their statements, and they never do. They just disappear for a while. I guess when you can't answer a question or back-up your statements, all you have to do is go hide until the coast is clear in a week or two.
Posted by Judith at July 2, 2006 03:57 AM5 years after 9-11 Bin Laden must be happy to see Bush flushing the constitution down the crapper with every policy he enacts to keep the little bedwetters safe.
Bin Laden got a lot of chaos for a small investment, he should send Bush a nice birthday present when he turns 60 on Thursday.
Posted by TIKI AL at July 2, 2006 11:19 AMJudith, Tiki, I am startled by the fact that only 19 terrorists lost us our civil rights. I've never put it in that perspective before.
What say you, Scrotumly? The chimporer let go 5 times as many terrorists as it took for us to lose a chunk of our civil rights. What kind of political maneuver was that?
